  1. Yes, isles got screwed, but also yes, we again only played 20 minutes tonight. Was also at the game, third period we disappeared until the miracle deflection. Rinse wash repeat. Again I understand they got ROYALLY screwed, but we’ve done this every year since the last ECF run. You can’t win being outplayed. It’s the same story every March-April now.

  2. The "situation room", I'd love to be a fly on the wall in this so-called situation room. Roy is right. They sit around watching old Monty Python movies and eating Tim Horton doughnuts…

  3. As a goalie and a life long islanders fan this is goalie interference in todays NHL. Cause todays NHL is PUSSY. This was NOT goalie interference maybe 5 years ago and 100% was not goalie interference 10 years ago. NHL needs to get back to gritty hockey where the front of the net is a war zone…. and this is coming from a goalie…

  4. 3:17 you can see the goalie resets, sees the puck coming, motions like he's going to block it, and Palmieri deflects it into the net. How is that interference?

  5. The league is a joke. Refs should have press conferences after each game to explain the thought process. I can live with a mistake or a "judgment" call but to just move on like nothing happened leaves the door open for all sorts of conspiracy theories.

  6. THE ISLANDERS WON IN REGULATION, THIS IS AN EMBARRASSMENT FOR THE NHL. Elvis had enough time to push Kyle when he was 3 feet out of the crease, but not enough time to reset? The league is a joke, the refs are a joke, Toronto being in charge of video reviews is a joke. NO ONE KNOWS WHAT GOALTENDER INTERFERENCE EVEN IS.

  7. Absolutely was a Blown call, Palmieri should have gotten a penalty for goalie interference!!!!
Nobody near him, skated into the blue paint to make contact with goalie , with a defender nowhere around him.
If you want to play on the edge, dont cry when you called for it…….

  8. NHL Rule 69.3 States If a goalkeeper, in the act of establishing his position within his
goal crease, initiates contact with an attacking player who is in the
goal crease, and this results in an impairment of the goalkeeper’s
ability to defend his goal, and a goal is scored, the goal will be
    disallowed.

Thats right, it says in the rulebook if the goalie initiates contact with the player, and a goal happens, it will be disallowed.

  9. For me it was the quick waving off. I feel like if they called it a good goal, it would not have been overturned upon challenge. The fact that the ref can so emphatically wave the goal off (isn't that supposed to come with a penalty?) on a play so close is beyond me. I though they were told that if it's close, let the play stand and review it.

  10. The goal should not count according to current reffing standards. Palmieri's body is over the lines of the crease, therefore he is in the crease, and therefore no goal.

Do I agree with the way they e been calling GI? Not at all. But at least they're being more consistent this year than years prior.

  11. That’s a pretty clear no goal based on how they call the rules.

The goalie has the right to his crease even if he initiates the contact in his attempt to get position , the isles player knocks his right skate with his skate which impairs his ability to get set for the shot

  12. There was a reason that the goalie didn't put his hands up he had his eye on the puck the whole time whether it was interference or not he wasn't saving that tip

  13. The problem is not whether this is goalie interference it’s that the islanders never have goalie interference calls go their way whether in their goalie or opposing goalie. I truly believe the nhl doesn’t want the islanders in the playoffs. Ratings would be better with Montreal or Rangers in the wild card.

  14. The NHL wants Les Canadiens to make the playoffs rather than the Islanders

  15. Just an awful call…. never in the crease… Elvis pushed Palmeri away…. that's a goal!

  16. Ya'll are dumb af lol That's goaltender interference 100% Elvis innitiates contact? Sure. But he always has PRIORITY of HIS crease. If he doesn't innitiate contact, Palmieri goes through the blue paint. Look where Elvis is standing when the contact begins. HE'S IN HIS CREASE! It's up to Palmieri to avoid HIM , not the other way around. I had money on the Isles , but ya'll are idiots and don't know hockey if you think that isn't GI.

  17. It's all nice and good in super-slow-motion. But could we see it at actual speed? Is there 3 seconds between the contact and the shot or 0.3? it's hard to judge without seeing it in actual speed.

  18. My son is a goalie players are always fucking with goalies. It wasn’t seconds after. He pushed him away and his torso and body were out of position.

  19. When the refs let Gretzky highstick Gilmour and split him open not even giving the Automatic 4 min for bleeding instead of a 5 min Major i knew the game was rigged and they didn't want an all Canadian Final that year with Toronto Vs Montreal because they were trying to 'Sell the game' to the US when trading Gretzky to LA.
To further prove my point in just HOW CORRUPT the NHL is they then changed the teams around in the divisions to make it impossible to ever have a Toronto Vs Montreal final again…even though it's one of the oldest and greatest rivalries in the game as the Original 6.
They've stacked the odds to help "PREVENT" an all Canadian final from every occurring again making them fight among themselves to get to the finals. That's corrupt on it's own.
It breaks my heart there will never again be the chance for a Toronto Vs Montreal final for the Stanley Cup.
Refs have been deciding games for decades.

  20. Any contact with the goalie who is in the crease = goalie interference can be called. The key being did the contact result in the goalie not being able to make the save with the initial call being no goal and the review requiring clear evidence that such contact was not goalie interference.

  21. Good call. At regular speed, goalie had no time to reset. Palmieri intentionally bumped him to
    Create interference.

  22. “It was seconds after”. No tf it wasn’t. It was literally ONE second from contact to goal scored. You have the evidence in the corner you numbnuts. Don’t even have a dog in this fight, but your crying is hilarious.

  23. It was the correct call as it is written. Palmieri made contact with the goalie while the goalie was in the crease. It may be a but soft due to the fact that if the goalie has time to shove the attacker, he has time to set for the shot that is about to come his way but it is still the right call, despite what the homers think. I think the GT interference rule is very vague and needs to be adjusted to make it more black and white. There is too much room for interpretation and that leads to inconsistency among the referee crews.
