Good game especially for second line , but where has Matthews’s been last few games since that huge game he had ? Obviously he’s hurt , they need to rest him soon and start having him miss some games.

Hi guys . Love ya . About the 3rd line. I'll say it for the 4-5 th time ; Steeves should be up here not on the Marlies. The 3rd line would then be Steeves – Laughton – Domi . Robertson competes like hell, but he is not an NHL player. A 4th line of Lorentz- Kampf – Jarnkrok works . I'm not an OEL fan.

Respectfully I disagree with Mr. McKee regarding his opinion that an assist shouldn't be rewarded for a puck off the skate. Very often the third pass on a goal is a key play so how about if every player involved in a goal is rewarded a point, it'd be fun to hear the annoncer say "goal scored by Matthews assisted by Marner, Knies, Rielly, Carlo and Woll." Goaltenders would rack up a lot more points, the NHL could create a scoring leader trophy for goalies, call it The Fuhr Award.

Realistically, if that word even has any meaning anymore with regards to sports in the form of contract: How much is Tavares worth AAV? 5M AAV? Before the season started, I thought 5M seemed fair, but something tells me 5 isn't gonna be enough. If I were TREE, i'd counter-argue that JT isn't getting any younger, and as every ear of his contract continues, it's going to look and feel worse and worse. I'm stick at 5M and remind John hat he chose Toronto. He chose this city. If he wants to move in the twilight of his carrer for some extra millions, all in all..

May not work but, when everyone is fit, I'd like to keep the top 2 lines as they were last night and try L3: Domi, Laughton and Pacioretty and then L4: Lorentz, Kampf and Robertson. You can pop Jankrok onto L4, for NR, if you want to mix it up.

Think you are confused of the time line. Assists are prior to the goal. Shot to the leg the into the net is after the Assists. Those Assists is correctly credited. When Assists are not credited is when a player takes the puck off the opposition and scores it regardless directly or from a bounce.
I understand you are simply saying it wasn't of their assistance. If you believe that, the it more like you believe in bringing in a shot clock to expire giving credited to the assist because it took too long for the goal to occur from the assist. 🙄
Laughton was always my bottom of the barrel trade target. All year. Different GM same deadline failures. Almost like the incompetence is above the GM. Jarncroc is straight up better than Laughton, I’d rather have him at centre.

"It's weird they never get any huge one-timers to Matthews anymore eh?" No Sammy, it's not weird at all…. He is very clearly injured and hasn't taken a full out slapshot in months. He finally ripped one upstairs on the PP the other night, only after he looked off 3 previous attempts clearly afraid to throw out his back or something ripping the shot.
