Once again ovi is left wide open. I think of all ovi's talents, his ability to sneak into open ice has to be among the best, if not the best. Great goal scorers know where the puck will be and hes done it throughout his career better than anyone who's ever played. Thats a skillset that ages well, even when physicality and explosive speed drops off.

Ovechkin is obviously going to break the goal scoring record. How important is it for fans other than myself that he also has around 300 hits in the NHL (which is actually very little per year. If we assume zero more this year, it would be less than two hits a game for two more years regular season only
