  1. Pasta? Captain? I really do NOT see him as a leader. Scorer? Sure, great player, maybe. But a team Leader?
I am not sure. McAvoy. For me, seems to be the leader Maaaaybe Sway. IF he grows up this summer.
I'd like to see who else steps up.
Kastelic might be too young. I know nothing about Geekie, in the room. Ice, sure, but room? No clue for me. Most of the rest are too new, or, simply not long term for the B's.

  2. I'd give the C to McAvoy. I've said many times I would have given the C to him when Bergeron left, rather then Marchand. Nothing against Marchand, but at the time I felt that McAvoy was the future leader of the team. Pasta and Hampus as assistants

  3. Pastrnak could’ve mailed it in but he didn’t and provided the only offensive spark they have. Kudos to Pasta for forging through a tough season. Count me as awarding Pastrnak the C

  4. I honestly have a hard time with this… I don't like any options currently on Bruins lineup as the leader. Maybe Pasta can lead by example. Does any player on boston inspire the other players? Maybe it is a bias comparing all captains to Bergeron or Chara.

  5. Until recently I would have said McAvoy. But I'm appreciating Pastrnak more now based on his recent comments. Also good seeing Lohrei stepping up his confidence as well.

  6. Despite the contracts, salaries, sweater letters… you play for each other on a hockey team. The last 3 games have had their ups and downs, but I think this team looks like they're starting to play for each other.

  7. What are the chances Marchy comes back this summer in your opinion? I'm thinking its as high as 50%. Does he really want to uproot his family over a year of term he probably won't get somewhere else? Or have the Bruins moved on?

  8. Here me out have a second set of co-captains (if the NHL still allows) with Pasta and McAvoy like how they did with Bourque and Middleton

  9. wait until next year to name a captain, there should be no rush to put that letter on any jersey. get your picks in order and set a direction with a new season and see who earns those spots. Dont put it on a first round pick again (Jumbo Joe Thornton) But if they had to do it this year i gues a healthy Mcavoy or Pasta would be ok

  10. I'd go with Pasta, but have no objection to Charlie. I'd just like to say I enjoy this channel that doesn't rely on clickbait bs to get views. Keep up the good work and I hope the channel grows.

  11. Unfortunately, based on ownership's comments at the deadline, it seems Sweeney & Cam are safe. A non-playoff roster was significantly weakened at the deadline. Really hoping some AHL guys get a tryout, but I'm not very optimistic. This team is a rebuild in my mind, hope I'm wrong.

  12. It will likely be Pasta. Because Hockey always just tends to name the best players on each team.

  13. I thought Marchand was a good leader. Has to be Pasta next, Capt. Now, what if Marchand resigns? Is he the Capt?

  14. Last season, I certainly wouldn't have answered PASTA. But this season, he has shown us the reactions of both a motivator and a player frustrated by the lax behavior of some of his teammates. I think he now has much more than statistics in his favor; he has achieved that maturity of mind and that winning determination that is noticeable in his behavior and which are the signs of a true leader that all the players on the team (younger and older) will be ready to follow into war.

  15. Pasta for me, however hope it doesn't affect his points production. The A's have to carry some of the responsibilities to lessen this potential issue.

  16. Charlie Mac is a true leader on and off the ice he should have been the clear choice after bergy. Marchand role was way more important as an instigator

  17. Pastrňák has a special mentality, a strong life story, and is among the absolute best in the game. I would really love to see him wear the captain’s “C” on his chest.

  18. I literally cannot believe this younger generation of simps picking Pasta. lol This is the captain of the BOSTON BRUINS, not the ice capades! Do you wanna see the names of the people to wear the C in Boston? Eddie Shore, Lionel Hitchman, Dit Clapper, Milt Schmidt, Johnny Bucyk, Wayne Cashman, Terry O'Reilly, Rick Middleton, Ray Bourque, Joe Thornton, Zdeno Chara, Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand to name just a few. Sadly Bobby Orr was never captain, but my point is that other than Nifty Rick Middleton, everyone on this list was tough as nails. And while Pasta may be our most skilled sniper of all time, he isn't really the quintessential Bruin. I personally think McAvoy is a better fit and is younger, but I would not be opposed to McAvoy wearing the C at home, and Pasta wearing it on the road, much like Middleton and Bourque did sharing the captaincy from 85-88!

  19. I believe Pasta should get it…..Btw did you go on a cruise recently? I swear I saw your doppelgänger on my cruise!

  20. No one can doubt Pasta's efforts in this lost season. People are moaning about his turnovers this year but where have they been for the last decade? He's always been high risk/high reward but now it's a big issue? Entering this season there were six teams who didn't have a captain: Anaheim, Buffalo Sabres, the Kraken, Tampa, UHClub, and Chicago. If the Bs are truly changing things up, I'd have Pasta, McAvoy and Kastelic wear an "A."

  21. It’s funny because I agree with a lot of other comments who are saying up to this point, I didn’t think Pastrnak was quite captain material originally. But he’s shown a great deal of strength and resiliency on and off the ice. I would be fine with either him or Mac and can’t really think of any other options that would immediately make much sense to me

  22. As far as I can see, the Bruins are done for the 2024/25 season. I feel they should use the remainder of this season like training camp. Try the new guys with their lines and look for some chemistry . Bring up some Providence players and try them with the new acquisitions as well. Unless it might serve them better to try for their cup down there. I am also of the opinion that Swayman isn't the lone starter they hoped for. So they should either start rotating him with Korpisalo to see if that looks doable, or start looking for another Ulmark to pair Swayman with. Personally, I feel Kopasalo merits a chance, as I have felt more confident with him in net lately ! I will continue to watch with no playoff fantasies, just as a training ground for next season ! I think it's the only way for the Bruins to move forward positively.

  23. it is hard for us to know how well respected in the locker room any player is exactly. maybe pastrnak is well regarded, but i can't see him as the captain simply because almost every player in the league can kick his ass. he is a truly gifted player and he has played very hard this year, but i always remember the importance of chara vs. the sedin sisters in 2011. the sedins set the tone for a cheap bush league and dirty team, while chara and the bruins won the world of hockey fans with their gritty and relentlessly tough play. on top of tim thomas, the Bs biggest weapon was chara the captain.
