Kreider, to me, wins the ZERO Effort Award – no question in my mind. He does ONE thing well. But overall he's a horrible hockey player. He tips in pucks – that's it! When he's not doing that, then he's doing NOTHING. He coasts around the ice, watching his teammates do the work. He COULD'VE BEEN a power forward, but he NEVER showed ANY signs of playing like one. The guy avoids body contact at all costs. He's the softest and laziest hockey player I've ever seen.
Don’t get me wrong I think Laf is well deserved of criticism for this year, but I will never understand the absolute disregard that this team from Day One never took his development seriously and made him into the passenger of a player that he is now, and now that he got paid suddenly the attention on him becomes more prominent when the ugly outcome of playing him on a line with a a non-Hart level Panarin and the 3rd line pre-Rangers play of Trocheck, like what did people expect? While I know he still has plenty of time and talent to be able to rebound my pick for this was, is and always will be Mika Zibanejad
Zibanejad was supposed to be the 1C of this team that was longing for a legit top line center for decades to go up against other teams’ top centers in the playoffs and yet he had never beaten a better center than him legitimately in the postseason. He has not looked good for a while now but was carried by sheltered PP time to pad his stats meanwhile his play in everything besides special team has dropped to the literal Abyss.
He may be playing fine recently but I’m not going to forget earlier in the year when he played like this team’s 6th line center and I’m for sure not falling for the “Mika March” nonsense when he was supposed to be this team’s top line center
79,93,20 and runner ups are 13 and sometimes 23, but I dont know if that's from the knee injuries
Power foward? More like a power bottom to mika lmfao. It blows because up until this year I loved Kreider and really wanted him to win a cup here
We better get atleast 5 points from the next 3 games
Lol, Thanks for giving me something to laugh about in an otherwise dreadful season.
Kreider and here's why…13th season and he should be a leader on this team but looks lifeless. Doesn't show it on the ice, bench, or off ice. His game is uninspired and abysmal, he hits like a marshmallow, magic on the PP is gone, bottom six'er rangers are paying $6.5mil a year for.
Lafrenierre, he got paid and then he disappeared
Too many player playing relaxed low energy hockey. The Zero effort aware should be shared by Zibanejad, Krieder, K A Miller, and to a point Lafreniere. Why doesn't Laviolette bench the poor performers,
Goes to 13
Hands down Kreider for Zero Effort. For Extra Effort award, this might be surprising but I'm thinking Brodzinski…he hasn't scored a lot, but plays tough & plays wherever they stick him with no complaints. He's a team player.
If Kreider's excuse is that he's been injured, then he shouldn't have been playing, because he's been LAZY, SOFT and most often WORTHLESS on the ice.
Just the Fact that 99% say Krieder & Mika speaks volumes, as for Laff, hes played on 20 different line combinations, shoukd have the Trochek line together, just like lavy never should broke the kid line…..
As for the Steven McDonald extra effort award it wont be the first time a 3 rd or 4 th line player won the Award……
Matt Rempe has given his all every shift he plays, not many others on this team can say that …….
Lousy Lafreniere, the grifter who took the money and TANKED!!…He lazily drifts around the ice skating aimless figure eights!!…Mr. Regression!!…The next time he back-checks will be the first time…Ship him out of here!!
Troucheck taking is sweet time to get off the ice after long invisible shift
79 leads the way with lack of effort… He has not developed at all the past seasons and his understanding of the game shocks me… Gold Medal to KA followed closely by Laffy. Kreider I will give a pass as I believe his back is shot. Extra effort without question and even an "in house F U " to Johnny B. after 2 snipes vs Vancouver by not giving him the game hat. 2nd I would give it to Sam Carrick.. he works his BUTT off.
I don’t do X/ here’s my vote for Steven McDonald extra effort award: REMPE. Here’s a Minnesota vote, late: Zero effort award is a coin toss between 20 & 93.
Ironically the most competitive 93,79,20 and13 have been this season is in this vote to see who is the laziest.
Mika guess the lazy I don't want to play hard at work
79 awful krieder too
Will cuylle ia my stephen mac award
LaFreniere a loser too
The man has four f**** assists this season he's not a power forward he doesn't get involved enough he's not in front of the net enough except for power plays he's just a one-dimensional player unfortunately
If Mika had a dozen eggs in his uniform they would be intact after a game
Too many East-West forwards and too many finesse forwards
Cancerous Quit Kreider The Glider gets my vote.
I'll listen to your 2 cents but our minds met right from the beginning of your video.
Kreider is the most obvious choice.
"Just watch" indeed.
Kreider's career can be summed up like this: 3 productive seasons (2021/22; 2022/23; 2023/24)
Number 20 won't be raised to the rafters, sadly.
He checked out for good when his name got out on the wire in november.
Now, on a positive note, I would give the extra effort award this year to Sam Carrick.
Carrick is the most talented "4th liner" the Rangers have had in a long time and his effort can't be denied.
But Cuylle with his production will probably win it.
My nominee would be Alexis LaFreniere.
How about the entire team, with just a few exceptions. Cuylle, Rempe, Carrick, Igor, Quick, Brodzinski, Jones, and Othmann. That’s it. Cuylle gets the Extra Effort Award. Looks like they may have to clean house in the offseason. Keep all I mentioned above and Panarin. Get rid of the losing culture that has pervaded this locker room. The other guys don’t want to be here. It’s obvious. They need a change of scenery. They’ll probably play well somewhere else, but it’s not going to happen here.
The travel weary Kings came into MSG and outplayed the lazy Rangers.
Laffy needs a change of scenery (Ottawa or Montreal) to motivate him to reach his potential.
Isn’t it odd that the Bruins (with Jeremy Swayman) and the Rangers (with Igor Shesterkin) which overpaid 😮both goalies will likely miss the playoffs?
Two dumb GMs didn’t learn from Blackhawks’ GMs Tallon and Bowman that goalies don’t need to have a large salary to win a Stanley Cup.
Mika, Kreider and Laffy should be shipped out of town!
Kreider is definitely #1 among roster players, but we should give consideration to player development personnel, namely Tanner Glass and Jed Ortmeyer. You cannot have career fourth-liners develop prospects, since all they know is how to develop more fourth-liners. It's not even that we draft outright busts, it's that we draft capable players whose development gets bungled along the way by those two bozos.
As an Canes fan who started his love of hockey on Long Island in the early 90s….where I learned 1st hand how to hate the Rags……Im loving the season the Rags have had.
