Really good show… thanks Nik and Mikey! Nik, really good to see you again tonight at the game!! I really like the thoughts you guys had about what Lowry is doing for Nik… I see exactly the same… Nik has way more room on the ice when he's paired with Lowry! It was an entire team effort tonight and so much fun to see in person!
The beer league analogy definitely rings true. Teams like the Avs, Lightning, etc view the regular season as a means to an end. Just get in. Here’s another one too. You’re only as good as your worst player(s). Like trying to hide a guy with two better ones. Instead of elevating that player he usually brings the other two down. Example Mason Appleton on any line he’s on.
Could Gus be a cheaper heavier version of Appleton upon his hopefully successful trip through free agency?
