Yeah the Canucks are done. The expectation was overachieved last year and they are right where they should be. Out of the playoff picture. The Miller trade to the Patterson and Brock Boeser situation. The team isn’t going to be a contender any time soon.
If there was still any chance left for them to make the Playoffs, this was the final dagger. Watch as they only miss by 2 or 3 points this year and continue doing this same thing for the rest of the decade.

It seems to Vancouver fans like they’re in a horrible spot and I get it but honestly last season I feel like they over achieved mainly off the back of ridiculously good Demko play in net , but also just players over achieving in general . This season they’re closer to what I’d expect out of them. Just outside or just inside the playoffs . Right around a wild card spot. Feel like if they just add a couple pieces to improve their bottom 6 and maybe some moves to find a piece or 2 to fit with the top 6 to get more out of their stars , mainly EP, then they’ll be a dangerous team. But will take the right moves obviously . But regardless that’s how I’ve felt. When they were playing as well as they did last season the entire time I kept saying “they’re over performing, they’re gonna come back down to earth” , and turns out that’s what happened this season. Probably a little bit more than I would’ve expected due to EP having as bad a season as he did . If he had a better season they probably sneak into a wildcard spot which is around where I see them. But yea I don’t think Vancouver fans should be as upset as they are. That being said I get it I know it’s frustrating don’t get me wrong.
