Watching this game with Detroit, it certainly looked like both the hockey Gods and Lady Luck chose Montreal to win the game.
Now with the news today that Demidov has been released from his contract to play with Montreal completely changes the odds on them making it to the SC finals.

It all went extremely badly for Detroit. At the same time, the wings played well. In the first period, they could have scored more than 1 goal. How Compher missed a completely empty net in the last minute of the 2nd period is simply amazing! After such fails, fortune usually punishes, and that's what happened! Oh, Detroit, another season has been thrown in the trash. In the summer, Yzerman will have to seriously work on strengthening the roster, because it is obvious that without quality players in such a deep East, it is impossible to get into the playoffs.
Compher has got to be having a rough birthday after hitting that post AND missing a wide open net…
