  1. It wasn't always pretty, but they founda way to win and sealed it with two empty netters. In Tennis they say that even when a champion has a bad day, they still find a way to win. well, looks like the Habs are able to find a way pretty consistently now!

  2. THAT IS A PIECE OF EXCREMENT RULE!!!!!!!!! helmet come off and you cannot play without it!!! Detroit screwed..BETTMAN BLOWS

  3. That play off spot is seriously in sight now.. keep it goin boys

  4. good job leaving the goalie alone for like an entire period it could have been an ez win for detroit just from the first period

  5. Christmas 1968, Toe Blake was the coach and Montreal was in last place. in their division. They stormed all the way back to win first place and then the Stanley Cup.

Watching this game with Detroit, it certainly looked like both the hockey Gods and Lady Luck chose Montreal to win the game.

Now with the news today that Demidov has been released from his contract to play with Montreal completely changes the odds on them making it to the SC finals.

  6. I'm glad. The bs is over. Why did the Wings quit playing in the 2nd period? Keep McLellan and fire everybody else all the way to the top.

  7. You can’t play without a helmet but they dive down exposing there head on shots. Just wear cages and stop making stupid rules.

  8. Matheson gives opponents at least one goal per game at this point. Why doesn't he watch a game or two from the stands?

  9. Since the 4 nation break montreal have been unstoppable! Just show that they worked hard during that break! Slav has been a different player!

  10. We somehow have the absolute most abysmal play in period 1, miraculously end only down 1, then end the game 4-1? Yep, sounds about normal. Still, so so proud of my boys. We’re doin the damn thing

  11. Montreal outsmart & outplay Detroit totally after the 1st period + BTW DRW #20 Johansson strap ya helmet properly, that was on you!

  12. You have to admit that Montreal got lucky in this one despite the 4-1 score.Still a battle won,2 points and the season continues.

  13. Guhhhhle! That stick deflection will go unnoticed and Sam had a great game..

I think a lot of the NHL old guards who watched/played and knew him is feeling sad.. and it felt so sudden..

  14. cruel outcome ..detroit outplyed them all game a number of posts and just misses …..bad result…

  15. It all went extremely badly for Detroit. At the same time, the wings played well. In the first period, they could have scored more than 1 goal. How Compher missed a completely empty net in the last minute of the 2nd period is simply amazing! After such fails, fortune usually punishes, and that's what happened! Oh, Detroit, another season has been thrown in the trash. In the summer, Yzerman will have to seriously work on strengthening the roster, because it is obvious that without quality players in such a deep East, it is impossible to get into the playoffs.

  16. Compher has got to be having a rough birthday after hitting that post AND missing a wide open net…

  17. Too much dead weight on DET Tarasenko, Holl, Motte, Ras, Compher, Berggren, Petry all gotta go. Tarasenko was horrible this season.

  18. The only person clinching right now is one Stevie Yzerman. This ship better get righted and soon…

  19. Hard to say deserved after that first period. Again. But. Fortunate I’d say. Again. Come on boys. Rest once in. 2/3rds of a game all the time these days is far to common.
