At this point it feels like Hawks will take Misa at 1 or 2. Schaefer will be a great player, but I doubt the hawks want to miss out on a forward like Misa, who fits their needs and is just a great selection. The sharks tossed their season from the jump, so if the hawks keep 2nd overall it shouldn’t be a difficult choice. Next question becomes: who will be the hawks 1D?

2. The hawks won’t pick Martone. They have a fetisch for only drafting players who are good skaters. ”If you can’t skate, you won’t be a Blackhawk” is tattooed on Kyle Davidsons chest. Although, Frondell and Desnoyers don’t have the best skating either so idk. Maybe they have to go with one of them if they dont pick one or two.
3. Imagine if they get Schaefer. Has there ever been a better young d core than what the hawks would get if it happens? Bedard needs someone (Misa ideally) though.

What if Hawks get the first pick and the Sharks get the 2nd pick. Could the Hawks swap picks with sharks and get Igor Chernysov in addition to the 2nd overall pick? That way could get Misa and a much need power forward.
My dream draft is that we get Micheal Misa and then somehow trade up to get Jake O'Brien! Misa is in my opinion exactly what the Blackhawks need and the upside of O'Brien is very intriguing.
Would also be fun to watch Vancacker – O'Brien – Lardis in AHL after playing together in Brantford.
Good video idea, can you do the Sharks next? They have 2 1st round picks and 2 2nd round picks this draft, would be interesting who you think they should target.

Bedard can win faceoffs recently
The Hawks have enough defensemen, Misa is the player and leader they need. That kid has the most potential in this draft, and you need a duo to win a cup, plus a good D man, they have Levy and Rinzel. After mistakenly missing out on Demidov offense needs to be the focus especially if you want to keep Bedard get the kid some damn help!

Please look at Bedard's faceoff percentage the last 15-20 games. He has gotten better and is only 19. he will most likely be fine at the dot in a year or so. I think saying Bedard can't win a faceoff for his life is incorrect.
Del Mastro, Allan and Kaiser are all future top 4 caliber defenseman as well.
The ridiculous high end max out comp for Michael Misa is Joe Sakic IMO.
Desnoyers isn't nearly as explosive, dynamic, talented or competitive as Toews at the same age. Desnoyers is much closer to Sacha Boisvert than Toews.

I almost hope they wind up with the No. 2 pick after the draft lottery rather than losing their chance at a No. 1 in 2026 which will be a much stronger draft. It will make the decision between Schaeffer and Michael Misa much easier and eliminate any controversy.

At 34, Vansaghi may still be there. Schmidt very well could go day two. Švrček would definitely fit their MO.
But they have a tendency to make certain the goalie they like isn't off the board so Ravensbergen, Frolov, Medvedev, Rimpinen, Andreyanov, Ivankovic, Härenstam?
It'd be nice for them to take one final RSD with size, length, and mobility so in the 2-4 round range, maybe Kettles, Pšenička, Bedkowski, Barnhill, Bausov

The Hawks did the same thing in the past too many under size player. Yes, under size players are fine but you need size around them or they get owned. I see the Hawks moving one or two of their smaller players as the kids show a little more of what each player is. One thing is true and always will be,if you have a too many D men there is always someone who needs them.
Hawks fan here good video. for me it's personlly Misa, Martone or O'brien. I just don't see a star from desnoyer and we desperately need that.
You take Misa trade up your second pick grab Carter Bear, then you get Bowan Byram he’s bin to the show and 23 years old can grow with the kids

If they're at 3 or 4 and Schaefer goes 1st, what are the chances they can move up to 2 and get Misa? That guy is absolutely everything they need and want in a player, and they've got a ton of picks and prospects to utilize

So I literally haven't watched him play so I'm in the dark here, but I'm suprised so many people are saying Schaefer is the clear first OA. I look at Misa an am super impressed by his season.
It feels like Misa easily has #1 centre upside. Why is Schaefer getting such a clear nod?

Boy it hurts they didn’t take demidov. They still have a very good shot at #1 this year. Having demicov/schaffer vs Misa/lLevy will come back to bite us.
Of course if we don’t get the number 1 and we ended up with demidov and misa would that be better than Misa/Levy? Probably.
As a Hawks fan, I’ve been big on Chicago taking Misa since November, even if we have the first pick. I want Misa. Schaffer is going to be great and has a lot of potential, but so does Misa. He was drafted in the OHL with exceptional status at 15. Has won the memorial cup, and in his draft year he’s been destroying the OHL offensively while still showing good defensive awareness as a Center.
Ultimately for me it comes down to the fact that while Schaffer would be great, Chicago already has a deep and promising prospect pool on defence. But if they go with Misa, they have the potential to run a 1a and 1b down the middle with Bedard and Misa that would be deadly. Add that with their speedy and skilled wingers like Nazar, Moore and Lardis and it just fills out their roster so much better rather than juicing up on their defence some more.
great for the top five, but also curious for what their other 1st rounder might look like. They have Toronto's pick. Traditionally they (Leafs) are out in the first round so around pick 20-25. Traditionally Great talent can be found around here.
