As a Habs fan, I hope they do, but I don't think they will. They've choked too many occasions already and CBJ have been on fire. The only way the Habs win is if they put Demidov with Suzuki and Cole for an entire game. Newhook missed about 3 open net tap ins last game.

I agree with last post. I don't think they will win either. They are still to young and can't deal with the pressure. Especially when you have some veterans who continually make the same mistakes over and over again in there own zone ( Matheson) and losing puck battles ( Laine). Hope I'm wrong. A longtime fan from Boston area.

CBJ has been playing excellent hockey, but hard to believe the Caps rolled over so easily to them. Yes Logan Thompson was hurt but even the second game for pride after a 7-0 spanking was underwhelming.

There are two kinds of Habs fans right now. The ones who say "I can't believe you guys don't still have faith! I never stopped believing and I know for a fact they're making the playoffs! Anyone who says otherwise isn't a real fan!" and fans who say "This team is done. They have no fight anymore and are getting embarrassed night after night, only winning games by sheer luck where they're being outplayed and giving up twice as many shots as they're getting."
By Thursday night, the first fans will be silent and the rest of the fans will at least be let down a little easier knowing they didn't get their hopes up in the last week of the season.
The Habs definitely got this, after seeing who will be in the Canes lineup I have no doubt in my mind Habs will get it done, coming from a Blue Jackets fan.
This idea that CBJ is more deserving because they are riding a heater are completely discounting what the habs have done since the 4 nations break. Let us also not forget the Habs have only 1 regulation loss in this losing skid. They’ve earned this spot and tonight they control their destiny. The question that forms the title of the TSN video in question is an interesting one because the Habs, as much as they control their own 2025 playoff-qualification destiny, still need a standings point to be sure of clinching a playoff spot.
