Everyone who knows anything about hockey had zero doubt the panthers would flip the switch once the playoffs started. They were trying to get healthy at the end of the regular season. That's it. This team is battle tested and didn't care about seeding or who/where they played in the first round. Champs for a reason. Tonight it showed.

to clear up goaltender interference (and reduce questionable challenges), would it help to give goaltender some kind of right of way to the top of crease? players would go around goaltender more?

Interesting that post game Paul Maurice was critical of the Panthers play in the game. He was not as pleased as one would think he would be.
People got a little caught up in some recency bias with the late season drop in the Panthers record. ANYONE who watched the Panthers could see they were not interested in gunning for the division. They knew Chucky was coming back – they are arguably healthier than Tampa. Maurice did a masterful job in getting traffic in front of Vasy and he did not play a very “Vasy-like” game. I still expect this series to go 6 games but if Tampa doesn’t give out some punishment, kill a penalty, and (let’s face it) Vasy doesn’t play like we know he can, Tampa will be out quick.

People forget about all the injuries that Florida had and how many players hadn't played together pretty much for most of the year and we still ended up with a top three record in the division. #TimetoHunt
Florida is just the better team, and have been for 3 years. On top of all of that, they are probably the most physical and nasty team to go along with their skill, I’m not sure why everyone doubted this team, it’s like “Y’all must have forgot”

My bolts will lose this series if they don’t start forechecking, Florida’s forecheck is relentless and never let up and it makes it tough to just get the puck down the ice
As long as the refs don’t have a clear definition of goaltender interference you might as well challenge them all, it would be irresponsible not to as a coach. I’ve seen more sure fire goals than that one get overturned for “reasons”

There was a lot of hitting, but it looked like Tampa felt betrayed by Bennett's high skill goal, thinking it was agreed on that they would ignore the puck for the first period. The goal challenge for goalie interference was strange, when if anything Vasilevskiy should have had a delayed penalty for holding the stick on the Florida attacker. I was pretty unimpressed with the Tampa fanbase to see so many people leaving the game with nearly 15 minutes left in the 3rd period of a playoff game. Were a bunch of people late for parties they were double booked to be at?
Chucky IS Panthers hockey. An important factor with the Panthers forecheck, is every player knows how to throw their weight around perfectly.
