Minnesota stepped up and matched Vegas physicality and then some, taking away one of their main advantages. Hill had a couple "for your consideration in choosing the Olympic team" saves before Boldy started the onslaught. I can't blame him on the first two goals, but the next two weren't great. Vegas had their chances and there was some push back, but Gustavsson had a great game.
Coach Cassidy has never fixed the horrible passing leading to turnovers for the knights 90% of the time.
Cassidy is blind to this problem & so is the coaching staff.
You never mentioned the slew foot
You oversimplified the oversimplification.
We absolutely dominated the last 15 minutes of the first period. No one watching that game could reasonably say otherwise.
The first 5 minutes were closer, and Vegas had the better scoring chances outside of Ek’s doorstep chance.
The last 15 minutes of the second was absolutely dominated by Vegas. Almost the entire second half of that period was played in our end with our Wild players just trying to get in shooting lanes and hold down the fort.
Third was a bit more even, but the first part again belonged to Vegas.
But just going by SoG as your barometer of who was dominating doesn’t come close to meeting the eye test.
Wild in 5
The after whistle punch to Kaprizov’s face was an interesting non call.
Sounds like the local broadcast (which I watched because ESPN makes me wanna 🤢) was more impartial than the ESPN announcers. As a VGK fan I was disappointed…it was like the team forgot how to play hockey.
Wasn’t shane hnidy on the broadcast ? He is usually on the vegas team so that could explain it.
I saw a big struggle from Theodore, McNabb, and Smith.
Saad on the other hand looked pretty amazing, as well as Hertl, as he has been since 4N
I expect more from Stone and Eichel. They haven’t been bad but they haven’t had an impact either, they need a spark
I understand why the start time is crappy but as someone from van that lived in Ontario for years it’s just the way she goes. You gotta stay up late to watch them when they play on the west coast
Love your commitment to neutral unbiased takes. always great job.
In regards to fans leaving early when losing, this is probably the result when you build a team on the sole promise that theyre winners. When you dont provide, fans leave. Its just the culture Vegas sows
Minnie for W
The timing of this game made no sense. Usually, they screw over western teams and their fans by having having at 4 or 5 pm Pacific when they're used to 7 pm games. Now they're going with 8 pm? From one extreme to the other. Glad to see Minnesota win something. That state supports hockey and always has. They deserve some success.
THG- thank you for continuing to acknowledge the favoritism on the broadcast towards the knights! As a minnesota fan- it’s unbearable at times.
2 and 2 yerstday and 6 and 3 record in the playoff
VGK absolutely owned this game—Minny just got lucky capitalizing on VGK’s slip-ups. If you caught the action, VGK had Minny pinned in their own end for well over half the game, if not more; the ice was tilted hard in Vegas’ favor. I didn’t catch much bias in the announcing, though—honestly, they were hyping Minny up, giving them plenty of props despite the pressure. Same deal with the EDM vs. LA game: the broadcasters were practically cheering for EDM to claw back against LA, and they nearly pulled it off! VGK’s dominance was clear, but Minny’s knack for pouncing on mistakes—like we’ve seen with their defensive style before—kept them in it. Oh and Gusty was standing on his head.
I dont get the national TV love for Vegas. They are pretty much universally hated throughout the league. Read the room fellas….
Was a tad too tired this morning heading to class but was propelled by excitement for my Wild (and copious amounts of caffeine)
Wild in 5 💯💯💯
Minnesota are making it to round 2 if they win Game 3. Vegas were terrible in transition defense for most of that game. It's a shame people watching in Central time zone, couldn't watch after the 2nd period at the latest. 10:15pm CT is ridiculous.
The bias for Vegas is so frustrating to watch
As if dealing with that vacuous moron Hextall,, the bias was almost too much last night. I guess we cant be surprised. Started to feel like Joe Buck was doing a Royals game again.
Vegas people gotta go to work, man! Plus it’s a walk to wherever they park.
