Blues were great in 1st and 2nd – came out flat in the 3rd and lost because of it

Blues got gassed in the third, would‘ve won otherwise
Ever since the officials allowed the Hossa goal to be counted when it obviously did not cross the goal line, back in the day, thus allowing the hawks to be in the playoffs for the $$$. So since then , the NHL is nothing more than the WWF. The penalty calls were embarrassing for everyone. After the first call. that shouldn't have been a call, I watched the rest of the game with a paper bag over my head so people wouldn't see me watching such a childish affair called the NHL.
that silly penalty by bolduc is what ruined the momentum for the blues. Iafallo was slasing bolduc during the play, and Bolduc reacted at the worst time. Rookie move letting Iafallo get under his skin.
Jets fans are so soft.

First full Jets' game I have seen this year. Wow, I am really impressed by the team.
I will be cheering for them to make the finals. (and of course expect them to lose to Montreal )
I thought Binnington outplayed Hellebuyck despite the score. Two of the goals the Jets got were off deflections and the winning goal was a cross-ice pass to the person with the most goals this season between the two teams. Conversely, Hellebuyck got beat straight away on all 3 Blues goals. Granted, they were high-danger areas and two of the three were high caliber shooters to boot. Nevertheless, Helleybuck got beat three times whereas Binnington only got beat once that way.
The Blues are really missing Dylan Holloway. I’d love to see him play this series.

just a suggestion as you say you have one board per series is using you small magnets to indicate the wins instead of writing leads 1-0 similar to like the social media with like x's or filling in dots just an idea

The Jets couldn't afford the squander the extra home game they got for finishing 1st in the league. Conor's release on the winning goal was unbelievable. He, Schiefele and Morrissey are magic when on the ice together.
Jets played very well, which makes it extra frustrating seeing some soft penalties against the Blues, especially that ABSOLUTE DIVE from Iafollo. The penalty against Leddy was at least a self inflicted trip, assuming it wasn’t a dive. Leddy literally wasn’t moving, but the Jet spun and caught on his stick. Refs trying to even things up, but the penalties were not equal between the teams.
The bit that gives me confidence, as a Jets fan, is the 8-2 shot count in the third. The Blues went from leading to tied to trailing to game-basically-over without managing to get a single shot through to Hellebuyck. The Blues are clearly a good team and it's going to be a struggle to get chances against them, but that third period shows the Jets can take control of a game to an almost comical degree, and even if you only get 5 good chances a game, that's probably good enough if your opponent only gets one.
Also, nice to see goals from 3 of 4 lines and all 3 members of the top line.
I think my biggest take away is that the Blues can defeat the Jets. The younger players just need to mature faster and learn how to play in the playoffs immediately.
In fairness to letting them know (I was outside), the refs kept the whistles firmly in their mouths for most of the game.

Blues fan, I feel pretty confident. We kept it close until the end, I think we regroup and make a great series.

The real issue is that the Avs will be waiting on the other side of this series. Hate to say it but they probably win the West and easily too. Blues are going to add a piece or two in the offseason. The window opens again next year, this year is experiencing the playoffs for youngsters and some seasoning for the rest. The Blues are hungry and will be hard to deal with moving forward
As a Blues fan, of course I wanted to win…but I didn’t come out of that game mad at the Blues. They played a tough game and I still feel the series can go either way.

I was at this game. It was very frustrating to watch live because it was just officiated so poorly. The first four penalties (two each side) were beyond soft, and the refs missed several others. It wouldn't have mattered so much if special teams hadn't been basically the only way anyone was scoring in the early going.
It was obviously an off night for Helle, so I appreciated that the Jets figured that out and were like "okay the Blues never get to shoot again" after about 5 minutes into the second. Blues also seemed to run out of gas in the third, but for the first two periods they were very scary.
For the curious, crowd chants included "M-V-P" at the start, booing at the American anthem, "Jor-dan" after basically every Jets goal, and my personal favourite "Luke is Better", in reference to both teams having a Schenn brother.

The Bolduc penalty happened because he was sparing with Iafollo just before that. Still a dumb penalty to take and deserved. And the Blues can't sit on a lead especially when it's a 1 goal lead. Shots on goal in the 3rd for the Blues shows just how much they sat on that lead and hoped for the best. As always absolutely love this channels break downs.
Still positive energy from Monty, don't give up on the Blues!
As a Blues fan, I just want to close my eyes, click my heals three times, and wish that 3rd period didn’t happen. I’m going to write it off as a learning opportunity for the younger players. I am hoping veteran leadership and Monty have them more disciplined tonight and the Blues take game 2.

A Blues fan, that was a very closely played, hard fought game. The Blues checking was relentless, a quality they had in the 2019 playoffs. They didn't look like a Wild Card team playing the best team in the league. No, the game could've gone either way. If every game is like this, it's going to be a seven game series, and either team could win.
