The old "let them play" argument is pure BS because the garbage refs are alloowing some players to cheat the RULES and it is THEIR job to enforce the rules.Furthermore what these trash refs do is a player gets cross checked in the back nothing ccalled but as son as the player take offense a "retaliation"call is made.This happens a LOT and has nothing to do with letting them play these are cases where the refs are picking their spots and having a NEGATIVE impact on the games.

It was a league official that called for the investigation! The reason is for what happened years ago in the playoffs during warmups between Montreal and Philadelphia in which a brawl broke out….I believe it was in 85-86… since then they made a rule that during warmups players are to stay on their own side of the rink or they can be fined or suspended. No doubt Cousins was playfully making a jester to his old teammate but as the saying goes rules are rules and you break one you’ll have to pay.
You are absolutely spot on about the Div of Player Safety and their poor performance this past season as to how they dealt (or failed to) with important issues. Also, the worst officiating in years!

You do know the NHL can consider more than one thing at a time, right? It's not player safety or this incident. It's a sad truth, but society has to slow down for human speedbumps like yourself.

I remember in the 80s Portland winter hawks pre game when both teams would skate the whole length of the ice and a big brawl started they stopped that kind of warm up
anything that might interrupt the start of a game, such as what is going on in Jets-Blues series (both Game 2 and 3), affects the broadcasters and the NHL is much more concerned with the broadcasters over the players' safety. Yes, both teams were talked to by the NHL about this.
So when ever it’s canadien teams against each other. It will get buried. When it comes to American teams, they wanna try to crackdown at the American teams.

As a Leafs fan, I agree this is absolutely ridiculous. They have more important things they should be concerned with. Player Safety is a JOKE, plain and simple. This is almost too funny to even take serious.
