  1. If the Anderson hit is a penalty, then the Wilson hit has to also be a penalty

  2. The Habs issues have nothing to do with their youth/experience. The Habs will have the same issues over the next 10 years if they hypothetically cut the same roster and let everyone agent and progress on the roster. The issue is playoff hockey and middle of regular season hockey are very different sports. The physicality level is not even close to the same.

The tallest player on the Habs is their 6’3 goalie. The capitals top 5 point scorers averaged a height of 6’4. The Habs top 5 point scorers averaged a height of 5’10 in the regular season with only the 1 tallest player a) being over 6 feet tall and b) matching the height as the shortest top 5 point capitals player, but being 15 pounds lighter. No wonder the entire Montreal team is either injured or fatigued.

  3. It has nothing to do with veterans versus youth, it has everything to do with playoff hockey being infinitely more physical than the regular season. The tallest player on Montreal is their goalie.

  4. Can we at least all agree that NHL referees are somehow the best at being referees for the sport they play at compared to any other major sport

  5. I don't want caps any further in the playoffs. Ovi has to be sent to the retirement early. There's no fun at all in any aspect of caps' game. I want Hutson, I want Caufield, I want Demidov.

  6. The Habs is going to be dangerous on that PP1 with the addition of Demidov in the lineup. If the Caps were to eliminate the Habs next game. If worse comes to worst, at least they get the 16th and 17th pick at the 2025 draft. They just need to find that second line center to play with Demidov.

  7. Montreal are going to be dangerous in upcoming years. I cheer for caps but would not count Montreal out of it yet!

  8. One team wasn’t allowed to push and one was allowed to headhunt.

This was a perfect execution of the refs tipping the scale.

  9. Wilson used to launch himself into players, leaping into them. He nroke a guys jaw in 2018 run and was suspended. You can see he knows so he doesnt jump and he aims for shoulder. If Carrier had seen it and ducked, penalty for sure. MTL has hige future. So much young talent. Just need some size.

  10. If they play like this, they will beat capitals, because the hockey sport without help of the referees is on the Montreal Canadiens side, Washington goals was lucky, Montreal Canadiens can stand 3 on 5 powerplay, the powers of capitals with that old team starting draining off, you will see in 5th game what the Montreal Canadiens with this youngsters are about 😉

  11. Yeah, the refs are doing such a good job to keep the cup in the U,S.! I mean, they only have 25 chances to our 7 in Canada…..Buttman is such an honorable guy……🐀🦨🐀

  12. My opinion is, there have been missed calls equally on both sides. The only reason habs are complaining is because they’re down 3-1

  13. The Caps dominated possession again. The Habs have the much better PP but they couldn’t even muster 20 shots and are complaining about officiating. Montreal goalie coach and players have basically admitted Wilson is in their heads. You just have to play. They weren’t complaining last game when the PP was 6 to 2. Montreal has decided to play Xhekaj and he was terrible. Look at his and Ghule numbers they were slaughtered. He was out of position on the goal. It has been a totally winnable series for Montreal but they can’t make the plays you need to win a series.

  14. Caufield was a minus 4, (-4), not worth anything in the playoffs! He's a liability.

  15. Habs don’t need to embellish and the refs “on their side” with brutal / blown calls to be in this series.

  16. They arent too good but the best capital player are the refs….. thats said a lot

  17. Aside from refs helping the Caps at every turn the Caps have a long history of losing playoff series when up 2 games during their 50 years in the NHL. They win 28% of those series.
In the history of the league a team down 3-1 in games it's happened 28 times, the Caps have 5 of them, these were teams who lost the series.

I expect Mtl to come out on fire next game and over run the Caps like Friday…..they have nothing to lose.

Montreal will have over 40 hits and head hunt Thompson with their shots. They didn't test him last game.

They'll be back in Montreal for a 6th game

  18. 4:30 the game doesnt grow because The Media doesnt want it to. I'm brand new to hockey (1 week) and loving it. NFL is just as bad (or worse) than NHL when it comes to non-calls or 'soft calls'. Hockey is an amazing sport, super fun to watch, and has more action than the NFL. However I feel The Media doesnt want to embrace hockey. Again, I am brand new to this sport and not holding onto any sentimental feelings or biases.

  19. Ovechkin hit was clean idk what you clowns are crying about.. they called interference it most certainly was NOT interference.. it was clean 🧼

  20. On the first goal, Dobes should have grabbed the puck, instead of watching it.

  21. The Canadians are the worst team in the playoffs. More teams and more games, everything gets watered down.

  22. Great analysis! I think your point about Caps being poised and methodical is spot on. Winning or losing, their game positionally is more structured and less free-flowing than Montreal (i.e., conservative, but opportunistic), and it will only improve when Protas returns and makes that Suzuki-line vs. Ovi-line less of an unfavorable matchup for the Caps. Remember that Protas somehow managed +40 (+/-) this year on a line where Ovechkin basically didn't backcheck at all, which shows the quality of two-way hockey the guy adds to that line. If the Caps ever go down in this series, I definitely think they can bump the offensive slider way up and play run and gun hockey. But for now, they are playing a closed-position style game.

  23. Also, we're doing all this without our biggest offensive producer in Protas…

  24. I have a funny feeling good old Tom will be hit silly in game 5…..he may not even finish the game.

Montreal has nothing to lose and Washington has everything to lose.

  25. If the officials did their job properly? it would be 3-1 Montreal. The obvious intent to injure Carrier, The obvious head hit on Evans need to be seriously suspended, not 1 game, but many more. These are their heads in jeopardy here, not just careers, but lives.
