Panther fan here! I agree that if the bracket were different this would likely be an ECF matchup. The Lightning and Caps are the only two teams that gave me pause as potential matchups and we just struck out one of them in 5.

The Panthers pickup in Marchand really showed how it paid off tonight. I think he had 3 goal assists. Key pickup. I put MORE money on the Panthers to win the Cup after the Marchand trade.

For it being a 5 game series the bolts put it all on the line in games 4 and 5 minus Hagel and Bjorkstrand. This was way tougher than last year and y’all have nothing to be sad about hopefully Cooper doesn’t leave nor JBB goes crazy to blow it up.
Tampa is a great team. Unfortunate these two teams had to meet in round 1. Florida is just a better team. Marchand addition really shined tonight. You should root for Florida to win again. I am a Panthers season ticket holder and had Tampa beat us, I would have rooted for you. Let’s support the Florida teams.

As a cats fan it’s been more brutal than ever as the series got more physical and that humble pie we needed in 22 was served to us after y’all swept us. It doesn’t go down easy I promise we literally did a 180 like you mentioned whether the bolts do that remains to be seen. Definitely will be nice to get some rest for round 2 but also was worried without Ekky it would go 7. I appreciate your passion for the game and being as objective of a fan there is all class and should definitely be noted

It came down to the 5 on 5. Both of our PK's were solid which is why there wasn't a whole lot of action there. I think the Bolts were better this year than last year but the Cats are just a wagon right now. Good physical series, take care!

Tampa Bay is a good team, the issue is that the Panthers are just that much more better. Had lightning played anyone else the story would be different.
Floridas defense is just insane, you can’t breathe on offense for more than 3 seconds. Zero room to move.
Phenomenal review and Honest reflection. I live in Phoenix, and I have taken many red eyes to Tampa the last 20 years to watch my beloved Bolts. I hate to see them lose, EVER, but Florida is just bigger, stronger, meaner and faster than us. We have got to improve this next off season in personal to match up with them!!
As a panthers fan I used to get annoyed with the lightning. You guys always seemed to have our number. But this entire video I fully respect it. if the reason you're not rooting for us is out of respect then I am all for it. I believe rivalries are truly something when there's mutual respect and I respect you for being level-headed and understanding the fundamentals of what it means to be a fan and a student of the game.

You seem like a really normal person compared to the average sports fan, but tonight I read a Tampa fan saying the lightning would have swept the panthers if only they had Paul Maurice. Which is such a back hand diss to Jon cooper who’s a great coach in his own right. You seem cool but so many Tampa fans I’ve seen are coping poorly
Dude! Are the Bolts the Cats older brother or not? Brothers can be rivals but, in the end, they got to have each other's back; the Floridian family has got to stick together. This year I wasn't too happy with TB: I didn't like you all trading Stamkos or Sargachev; I dislike Kucherov, and I really dislike Hagel (though I don't wish on him, or anyone else, an injury/illness) but if the Lightning had beaten the Panthers, I would've been rooting for TB to win the SC. It has to be a point of pride that for the past 5 years, a Floridian team has been in the SC finals and 3x out of those 5, a Floridian team has won the SC and this year, hopefully, it'll be the Cats again. You're not wrong, man. Getting swept by the Lightning after the President's trophy and beating Washington in 6… That hurt my soul and I couldn't root for the Lightning either. GG and I hope we see each other in the playoffs again next year. Always competitive and good to scrap it out in a series against the Lightning.
