can we all just appreciate how good Jack Michaels is as a commentator and what life he brings to the game? So 2 of the 3 Vezina finalist are done after,the 1st round. Speaking of goalies this is craziness that L.A.(and probably Vegas) got will get beat by a journeyman goalie. He couldn't make the Red Wings line up but now he's gonna carry Edmonton to the promised land. He's picked the right to become Grant Fuhr.

As a Kings fan, I think it came down to a couple things. First the Kings got away from what makes them great(and won 2 Stanley Cups)- high amount of shots, lots of forechecking, and solid defence. And we lacked that grittiness that would never give up a lead. The signs were there in Game 1 despite the win. There were positives (like Kuemper), but they weren't enough.
But secondly, the Oilers regular season was worse because of injuries. Now they're starting to click, and they've still got Ekholm to come back. I'm still not convinced, but I wish you well for the rest of the playoffs. 😀
This outcome was unexpected, it would seem that the only thing that Oilers did better was score more goals. Goaltending and defense wise plenty of mistakes on Oilers end, and still winning. I would be scared for the second round unless they adapt and grow.
Someone tell Bouchard that he's allowed to block shots every now and then. My goodness, he's worse than Mitch Marner in elimination games.
