Current players don't care about future players. They are not going to stop competing so the team can get a higher draft pick. Especially bubble players fighting for roster spots or another year in the league.

Players don’t tank — nor should you want players who will tank. There are no generational prospects in this draft, so you teach your young core to win games and you draft well at your draft slot. Tortorella taught them how to lose like dogs down the stretch the past three seasons. Thank God that’s finally done with.

Remember that they're still playing Tortorella's system and that is working. Before you all think that Torts sucks. I admit that he might be getting some players stifled in a way.

I don't think the team wins these games with Tortorella still behind the bench. I personally believe his departure has greatly influenced the psyche of the players in a fine way. They just may win the remainder of the schedule.
People in the comments really don’t understand hockey. This is torts system they’re still playing. Players are never going to “tank”
Tanking rarely works, all about how/who you draft and how you develop.. all while trading and signing the right players.
Fedotov plays well when coaching shows some confidence in him….Hopefully the Flyers see his talent , size and potential is a huge positive.
