I give Bouchard an assist on both 3rd & 4th goals. Chris you made a comment that Evan is a important asset, FOR WHO. He can't keep up to a lot of forwards, he's not a quick thinker and most of the time he gives the puck away ( icing the puck ). What's really scary is he's thinking of his contract next year ( hopefully for another team ). Paul, you I have to blame as well. Are you watching the game. Are you happy watching this guy. The only reason his plus/ minus is not bad is he's on the same line as McDavid.
the thing with this series is LA isn’t the same team as last year they are a team that could go all the way so if Edmonton can beat them without taking on more injuries I feel as if they could go all the way

Everyone talks about how we need to get players to make us better, i think we need to get RID of a few tomake us better.
EVERY YEAR IT IS THE SAME. WITHOUT DEFENCE YOU CANNOT WIN A CUP. OHHH MCDAVID BEST OFFENSIVE TALENT, DOESN'T MEAN S$$$ WHEN DEFENSE IS NON EXISTENT. UNREAL, same old story. Even if we somehow we pull off a win against LA we will lose later on cause of AGAIN DEFENCE.
At what point does the coaching staff take responsibility for Evan Bouchard’s play? It’s unbelievable how he continues to get significant ice time when he’s consistently on the ice for goals against. It’s beyond frustrating to watch. And while I understand Stuart Skinner may not be your guy, the decision to not bring in a legitimate starting goalie falls squarely on this front office. How can anyone look at our goaltending and say it’s good enough? It’s not.
We can’t keep leaning on McDavid and Draisaitl to carry this team to the Cup. It’s just not sustainable. Bench Bouchard. Stop over-tinkering with the lines. And for the love of everything holy, hope that Skinner can find his footing as a backup to Pickard, because that’s where he belongs right now. This team deserves better.

We never gave up. We can clean up our defensive mishaps and play more disciplined. I don’t think that LA can play better than they did. But we can 100% play better than we did.
We have seen their PP and our in game adjustments shut down their 2 minute, 5 on 3 powerplay and stormed back.
If we are struggling for offence, we need to shovel pucks to the net, get in Kuempers face. He bobbles the puck and kicks out rebounds.
– With that said, we need to make sure we have a third man high at all times to not give up odd man rushes.
Bouchard is fine – Playoff Bouch is engaged. His mistake was bad, but won’t happen again. His offence is what was exciting to see again.
Skinner kept us in that game – Believe it or not, he made some big saves for us. Yes, the knuckle puck sucks to lose on – However, our team defence will be better which will help Skinner make more “timely” saves.
Game 2 Notes: Don’t spot LA a 4 goal lead and we will walk out of California with a W and a 1-1 series split.

Gosh this coach is Crazy!!!!!! Bench freaking Bouchard and FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DON'T PUT SKINNER NEXT GAME!!! PICKARD deserves it!! I'm so sick of him making excuses for those two just say it how it is they both suck and we have a real freaking problem those two have been sooo bad the whole season why would they get better now.!!! I believe in the oilers but unfortunately those two will b the death of us!!!
It's only game 1 and the Oilers needed to get the rhythm back after the core player being out for weeks. If they keep the effort up that they showed in the 3rd period the Oilers will take this series

Not many franchises get the opportunity to see a pretty decent playoff sample size of young goalies like Stu Skinner. I think it's fair to say we've seen enough. We've seen enough of Stu Skinner and his limitations. I for one, can't see anything else or anything new Stu can bring to the table in this deal. He is what he is, an enormously inconsistent NHL goalie. Hot streaks, cold streaks. You have no idea what you're going to get with this guy. That's not what you call a #1 starter. You call that just barely enough talent to make it as a pro. It's mind boggling how this franchise pins all their hopes on a goalie that just squeaks by in the talent department to be a pro goalie. Even worse, forcing Leon and Connor to pin all their hopes on Stu. Just incomprehensible. Go Oilers!
