I get to watch the Erie Otters a lot. I wouldn’t take Spence unless it’s in the mid 20s he’s a lazy off ice player. Idk if that’ll change in the nhl but right now I’d stay clear.

Luchenko was a reach! He may turn out okay, but he will never be a top-line center. Luchenko's +/- has always been negative for the past 4 years. If you look at Helenius and Buium, both players are Top-line players. Danny overreached because Luchenko has speed and a center, but is undersized and has hands of stone. Both Buium and Helenius have scored more points and assists than Luchenki. Of the 3 players, Luchenko is proven, while in a short period, in the Phantom Playoffs, he had breakaway opportunities and failed to score. Says a lot. I would rather have a slower center who scores. I would rather have a 6-foot D-man who plays Defense well and scores, rather than a 6'5" D-man who plays Defense well but can't score, Bonk! I think they got lucky with the Russian, but as a whole, they have done a mediocre job so far with their drafts. With a couple of possible exceptions, Danny looks like a Rookie GM! As to Luchenko, you don't take a consensus 20+ draft pick in the 13th spot! You don't pass up two blue clip players, and you don't draft for needs! You take the best possible athlete where you land in the draft. That's how Dynastes are built over 5 or 6 years. York was not the best player at the draft position; Caulfield was. I bet the Flyers would love to have a guy who scores 70 points a season. It takes two or 3 Flyers combined to get to 70+ points a season. I am so sick of incompetence!
Trade up for Frondell he will be the steal of this draft he’s one of the younger players and already a top 5 pick playing in a men’s league… he could be a top 3 pick in the 2026 draft. trade with Utah to move back to 4 give them Risto or York and 6th and maybe even add a 2nd. I think he’s worth it. His shot is undeniable and he is surprisingly very physical .
Last year briere could have made a big trade package to CBJ for Demidov and he didn’t and then he trade Frost and Farabee for pretty much nothing. Laughton trade was good. But he needs to move up to get Frondell. Cause Desnoyer won’t cut it. Gotta pay the price for good players. Anyone but Michkov should be untouchable at this point tbh.

In regards to the angst around Hagens, isn't our fear surrounding BC misplaced, and shouldn't it be directed at Kurt Overhardt clients? I wonder if Overhardt advises Hagens. If not, I'm not afraid to draft him.

The reason why I say it’s fixed, is because the 2 picks that moved up were so low with the odds and not 1 but both ended up moving up. It would have been not so obvious if it was the Islanders that moved up then the Sharks at 2nd or sharks at #1 and then another team moved in at #4 but both, yeah okay not buying it I don’t trust no sport operations.

Flyers draft history has been full of mistakes over the years i wonder if Briere and Jones know what they are doing.The next 2 seasons will make or break the team. 35M to spend next Summer in Free Agency lots of opportunity to improve.

If McQueen somehow fell outside the top 12, I would move every single pick after 6 to go up and draft him. Walk out with what you think is a safe center in Desnoyers or Frondell, and then take a huge swing later.

for the rebuild to work, Danny will have to draft well, but more importantly he will have to sign or trade for a number of good players. San Jose has a much better chance to have a good team in a year or two after getting Celebrini and Misa (or Schaefer) than the Flyers getting Luchanko and whoever this year. How did Hextall make out in rebuilding through the draft 10 years ago?

no more picking kids with injury history, most of us were scared about Nolan Patrick and look how that turned out. Waste of a #2 when there were enough red flags to move on.
We should take Mrtka at #6 if Hagens/Frondell aren't there. 6'6 frame and is Sanheim 2.0 just needs to bulk up a bit. They should take a swing on Mcqueen in the 12-16 range if they can trade up with Colorado pick. They should trade up again with the Edmonton pick and take Ravensburger. 6'6 Defensemen, 6'5 Center, 6'5 athletic franchise goalie. We need to add size with skill this year!
