I was in the building. Freddy was unreal. The boys are buzzin and Carolina isn’t getting enough credit for sticking to the game plan and executing on it.

This game was exciting even before the goals i think.Jackson blake was clearly going to crosscheck Dubios and did hit him low.
2 min for getting punched in the face is unreal lmao. Worse still getting 2 min for a high sticking that was the opposing team hitting themselves. Thank god the Carolina PK is insane but neither of those penalties should have been called that way. But a dub is a dub and what a game to have attended. I dont know why folks call defensive hockey boring. Sure rushes can be exciting but so is getting to see good hits laid out and players whacking at pucks like crazy.
Is this the year of the backup goalie? Pickard and Andersen are both playing extremely well in the playoffs this year
One thing I believe we can all agree on is how poor the officiating has been all season across the league. A lot of the refs should probably be sent down to the AHL.
I said this in another video, but literally the only two things that have held the canes back in the playoffs are the power play and goaltending. We are getting great goaltending and the power play is at least producing a little bit. If that trend continues, I don't know if anyone can stop them.
Blake was penalised for headbutting an opponent's fist.
These games remind me of how games went with Carolina and the Rangers, Carolina always seems about defense and that a single goal has great importance to where if you score the 2nd goal, you have a great chance of winning.. its not enjoyable to watch at all.
I do not get the comments that I saw tonight that this series is “boring”. Is it because we had a shut out tonight? Is it because the Hurricanes don’t play hockey “the right way” whatever that means… It’s getting so old from so called “tru hockey fans” and can keep other fans from getting into it. Just another version of gate keeping. So sick of it

Both penalties on Carolina were pretty egregious, especially that ridiculous high-sticking call on a completely innocent Jordan Staal… Yet all they ended up doing was padding the Canes' already league-best penalty kill percentage 😂

Both teams looked tired despite the defensive style of play. The quality of all games will go downhill so long as every series is 4/7.But then, money talks, health and quality of plays walks.

As a Canes fan, I had to turn the game off at the first intermission as the Hockey talking heads on TV were fully-equipped with their Capitals branded kneepads and chapstick. Its utterly ridiculous how much the media are DYING for a Caps Leafs matchup.
Stankoven was genetically engineered to be a Hurricane, if he was 6'0 instead of being fun sized hed be a generation defensive talent.
