  1. Confused why SDPN has utterly ignored the Jets in the playoffs, much like you disregarded them all season long. Can't wait to see them dump your leafs next time they meet.

  2. If Hill has even a .890 save% we're up 2-1 possibly 3-0. Half of Edmonton's goals were soft

  3. Latest GWG in Stanley Cup playoff history

Nazem Kadri of the Avs in 2020 in the qualifying RR against the Blues at 19:59 of the third
Jussi Jokinen of Hurricanes in 2009 in Game 4 of the 1R against the Devils at 19:59 of the third

Now we can add Reilly Smith to this list.

One potential problem, i don't know if you're allowed to have an NHL and AHL team have the same name while not being affiliated with each other [this has been the only thing that's made me think about naming a Portland NHL team something other than the Wolves, because the Chicago Wolves exist, and if this (unreasonable) rule also exists, then unless ownership of the Portland NHL team buys the Chicago Wolves, my name dreams and all the associated music would be as dead as the LA Kings (GDit Hiller). In the same vein, the existence of the Coachella Valley Firebirds could be troubling for an Atlanta ownership group if they want to use Firebirds]

Edit: I Found this on Google (It is AI so take it with a grain of salt like i do alot of Steve's takes)

"Yes, it is possible for an NHL team and an AHL team to share the same name while not being affiliated with one another. This is because the AHL is a separate league and teams can choose their own names regardless of NHL affiliations. While most AHL teams are affiliated with an NHL team, there are instances of AHL teams sharing names with other AHL teams or even with NHL teams, but without an formal affiliation"

I don't know about that last part (mentioning AHL teams sharing names with other AHL teams), but that could very well be because either A. I wasn't alive/watching Pro Ice Hockey back when this was actively true, or B. AHL teams sharing names with others is referring to current franchises sharing names with old ones that either don't exist anymore, or have relocated/rebranded (such as the current Utica Comets sharing a name with the old Utica Comets who were affiliated with Vancouver and moved to Abbotsford to become the Abbotsford Canucks). Either way unless AI is lying to us, the only thing stopping the Portland Wolves and Atlanta Firebirds from eventually existing is weather or not those cities get teams and if ownership decides to use the names or not.

  5. Skinner came out to challenge the fake slap shot that also caused Nurse to drop to the ice like he was shot. He over committed a bit and started chasing Smith.
