  1. Mark Wilf is spending a lot more time at his home in florida and recently purchased Orlando City Soccer in the MLS. Orlando has put $800M into their football stadium within the last few years and they have no team. i don't know too many cities that don't have an NFL teams doing that, hell half the cities that do have teams can't afford to do that. Orlando is exploding. i dont think he moves the vikings, i can't see it,but keep aneye on this long term

  2. Upgrades are not maintenance. A new boiler would be maybe 2 million. But i imagine what else. I didn’t know QB salary is maintence

  3. It sounds like they did only $12 million in maintenance each year for the first 9 years, seeing as how it was brand new and didn't need much TLC. The concept of what "luxury" means has changed a lot in the past 10 years. They want to add "luxury" accommodations for their millionaire clientele under the guise of "maintenance."

  4. I know the Canada life centre near where I live was built for about 150 million in 2004 by true north sports and entertainment. In the 20 years it has been used they put 90 million in upgrades. New score board, new ribbon displays, new seats and this last year a new sound system. All this is worth it because it’s one of the busiest arena’s in Canada but it also shows that these arena/stadiums are very costly in the short and long run.

  5. Amazing how union run towns work. Tampa has hosted 3 SB's in the current stadium, and a Wrestlemania, and the Super Bowl of Monster Trucks every year, and even with all that wear and tear, they haven't spent $300-million in maintenance and the thing is nearly 30-years old.

  6. Dodgers renovated their stadium at their own expense over the winter break. And these broke owners want more public funding?

  7. All stadiums need a capital improvement fund. You don’t want to wait until year 20 and then ask for $300 million all at one shot. Did they publish a budget?
PS — Suffering through decades of mismanagement by the LA Coliseum Commission on maintaining the facilities, I was relieved when they had a series of scandals that forced the city, county and the state to lease the stadium and surrounding Exposition Park to USC who had a long term interest in keeping the entire complex in tiptop shape!

  8. As resident and taxpayer of the District of Columbia, this is one of the many reasons I hope the new Commanders stadium deal falls apart. Mayor Bowser claims the stadium will pay for itself but the reality is that us taxpayers will be subsidizing it for decades anytime the owner decides they need some upgrades. Stadium funding should be 100% private.

  9. Large facilities and transit venues need maintenance in ways that make no sense anywhere else. Think the worn out outlets in a airport. Now $300mil lol. Unless they need to fix the roof.
