Interesting. If he’s seen as a #3 center does that mean Poitras is a 2? Does that mean we’re sticking with Lindholm at 1?
I like what I have seen from Minten. One thing I noticed with him is that he knows how to go to the front of the net. Without the puck he has shown he can find space in front and between the dots. Something I haven't seen from Merkulov. From a few Leafs fans I heard they were expecting him to be the 3rd center next year. Face-offs are definitely something he needs to improve on but that's fairly common for young centermen. I'm really happy that we got him and I hope to see him develop and exceed my expectations with Boston.
He caught my attention during his late season call-up .. mostly for his positional play and being around the puck. Thumbs up at this stage.
probably the best prospect that they didn't even draft-i see him as a 1st or 2nd line center-his upside is huge and make him a starter and give him plenty of ice time!

I am thinking 3rd line center, to start, for Minten, and see how he develops?
If he can significantly improve his face off wins percentage I can see his ceiling eventually as a C2.
I live near Toronto and while they like Carlo they didn't want to give up Minten a 3 or even 2 as Taveres is getting older. The last thing any of them wanted was him coming here!
Leafs fans seem to be quite unhappy about losing him. Considering how much better Toronto is at drafting than Boston (Knies alone is proof) I’m optimistic.
