Les Maple Leafs de Toronto, qui étaient à 1 but de se lever dans cette série 3 matchs à 0 il y a à peine 5 jours, ne sont désormais soudainement qu’à un match d’une autre effondrement des séries éliminatoires pathétiquement embarrassante. Tout semble avoir changé dans le match 3 lorsque les Panthers de Floride ont effacé un déficit de 2 buts avant que Brad Marchand ne le termine en OT. Ils ont été horribles depuis, mais le scénario majeur de toute cette série entière, sont à nouveau les quatre principaux de Toronto. Plus précisément, Auston Matthews et Mitch Marner. Les deux ont eu un cadeau ce soir qui mène directement à un but des Panthers. Matthews n’a pas marqué un seul but en 10 matchs contre les Panthers alors que les Leafs sont tombés de façon vraiment choquante ce soir dans ce qui aurait dû être le jeu de leur vie. Ils ne se présentent tout simplement pas quand ils le doivent. Je couvre tout et plus dans la vidéo de hockey de la LNH d’aujourd’hui!

When you know the team across the ice or field is better than you, you better be ready to dig deep, the Leafs didn't dig deep enough. The Florida Panthers are a juggernaut, they have everything from coaching to goaltending to defence to very talented offensive players. Yes that was a shit show…but when you're losing every puck battle, things can go south in a hurry. If you switched goalies this night, I'm not saying they would have won but that scoreline would not have been 6-1. Bad puck bounces that end up in the net doesn't help either. Look at the Canadiens of the 70's when they weren't the team between 1976 to 1979…the team of young Ken Dryden. This team from memory was not the favourites I believe in every series to their Cup win, but they dug deeper than any other team I've ever seen with timely goals and unbelievable goaltending, that's what the Leafs need in game 6. Yes I'm a Sens fan but every single season when the Sens are not there or lose out, I go for the next man up of Canadian teams. Go Oilers, Go Jets, come on Leafs get off the snide and get it done. For a former Canadiens fan and current Sens fan to go for the Leafs, I still believe you can do it, maybe!!!

Red Wings fan here and I love the futility in T-Town. Hopefully this leads to Detroit getting Knies or Marner when Toronto blows the team up. If not they're still only up on Detroit by 2 cups with their window closing and Detroit's is about to open.

I was expecting a ton of paper bag adorned fans in the stands. That would have sent a clear message. The Curse of Harold Ballard will ensure that the Stanley Cup never returns to Toronto. Matthews has golf on the brain. Marner has what team should I play for next season on the brain. Even though Clark, Gilmore and Tucker are well past their prime, they would play with more grit and heart than most of the guys on this current joke of a team.

The Leafs used to have the most patient, the most forgiving fans in the whole NHL, ever since they won their last Cup in — yes, 1967, almost half a century ago. Seems even their patience has its limits. I'm not a fan of the Leafs, but I would like this historic and once proud franchise to show that it is at least going somewhere. A sad, sad story.

Marner giving the puck away in some backward no look pass thingy (WTH was that?) wasn't even the worst part of that play. He didn't even bother to cover his man which led to a 3-0 Panthers lead. If the game wasn't already over before that goal, it was definitely over after that goal.

I think this version of the Leafs can officially be considered to be the worst playoff team in NHL history. Over the past 9 years, the team has been good enough to make the playoffs easily winning more games than they lost, but bad enough to only win 2 rounds while losing 9, that's a winning percentage under .200, with a winning percentage of 0 in six game 7's (or game 5 in 2020).. Any other team that would perform that poorly in the playoffs, simply wouldn't make the playoffs. It's a delicate balance that no other team has achieved in the past.
