I think Treliving stays, you don’t fire a guy who has done as good of a job as him with limited resources after 2 years. Also that take on sacrificing next year to go for the UFA’s is a bad one because that assumes none of those guys sign extensions. It’s very rare you get a free agent class as what is SUPPOSEDLY to come, but odds are a lot of those guys re-up with their current teams
Treliving, Shanahan and Marner need to GTFO of Toronto.

The sun still came up on Monday morning. They took last years champs ( and more then likely this year too) to seven games. Enyone notice the score last night in Carolina? Number one goalie out, numerous players playing hurt. They don't need to blow up everything just change some pieces. Marner is not built play offs and his 13 million request should get one ot two good players in return. I'd like to see Travaris stay but at half the money of last contract. Bigger and grittier is what they need.

Note to ROGERS: Don’t you dare fire Treliving. This is literally the best/most promising roster in my 47 years of existence. The #1 priority is to let Morgan Reilly walk. Although he has a No Trade clause surrounding him, cut your ties with him now. The Cost:Benefit ratio comes into play here.

I'd hope that this type of questioning happens every off season.
My guess is there is no need to fire Shanahan, Leafs will allow him to go to the Islanders and Marner may follow him. Treliving may be going to the Islanders when they discuss his contract. Once Marner is gone Matthews will demand a trade next trade deadline.
Get rid of Reilly, Marner, Holmberg, Robertson, Domi, Jarnkrok, Kampf, Reaves, OEL, and Tavares unless he takes a 3 x 4.5m.
If Rogers sports management past decisions show us anything, I doubt they will get rid of both trev and Shan, afterall they kept both shaprio and atkins who clearly have done worse then trev&Shan……….But Shannahan should go. Time for fresh start there

Tml is a business, investors (rogers)keeping the leafs alive just to make money of fans every season, shanahan is the investors face fire the investors, tml 108 year old billion dollar empire passed around like a hot potato.
I was optimistic this past decade ever since the Leafs started the new build with the core 4 and a bunch more. Though let down each yr in the playoffs ..It seemed they got a little bit better each year. But the Leaf Engine couldn't pump out the horses when needed. Yet a very skilled group of Hockey Players .. to the comparison of previous leaf teams of the last 58 yrs.
It's sad to see them bottom out at the end ..especially with the love and support of the Leafs during the regular season and the Deliverance to be near the top or win what is said to be the hardest division in the NHL.
The Owners and Managers need to sit down to figure out what type of Balanced styles of players are needed to get it done .
Shanahan and Marner are done. Don't re-sign.

I miss the days this team was run by one guy, owner Harold Ballard. to him the manager and coach meant very little. The fans and media also did not matter. One guy, one vision.
Brad made moves to get us ACTUAL DEFENDERS he better get 1/2 more years. Look I know he failed in Calgary, couldn’t keep chucky or Johnny and the flames didn’t do too much. Historically not the best. But Matthews has what 3/4 years left so we don’t have to worry about him and we probably could resign JT and Willy. Use the cap space from Marner leaving to get even more depth and balance out the roster. Leafs on the cusp here they really are.
