  1. Marco Sturm is THE reason why I turned to be a Bruins fan across the pond 20 years ago. It would come full circle for me obviously, as he lives and breaths Bruins style Hockey. But besides that, he would make a lot of sense, as he has the experience of his AHL gig, the assistant coach job with the LA Kings plus the silver medal of the Olympics for Germany in Korea. He learned all the different angles of the sport of hockey and is a NHL veteran, too. Nothing to lose for both sides.

Huge fan of the show, Haggs: keep up the great work.

    Bruins die-hard from Darmstadt, Germany

  2. Wasn’t Sturm already announced as the new coach? Why the discussion and speculation? If it was recorded yesterday, you should upload yesterday.

  3. He is not the right choice. He is a heterosexual, white male and that, obviously, would make his hiring racist and sexist.

  4. I still want them drafting McQueen . He was projected top 3 before injury and had the biggest upside. Selecting O’Brien or Martin is a safe pick and both only project as 2c.
Don’t be scared and go big and he may be the best in this draft down the road

  5. IF they are rebuilding, wouldn't it make more sense to have an experienced coach? However, it really doesn't matter because Sweeney will just blame him anyway and fire him

  6. Andrew Ference gave a great interview about the traits of a good coach and also talked about Marco Sturm. Ference talked about the grind of the NHL and how Sturm had a very long and successful career and immediately dove tailed into coaching, a grind in itself, while raising a young family. The question Ference raised was why? Why do it which could be perceived as a double edge sword :

If you go thru Ference's check list of what makes a good NHL coach, Joe Sacco checks all the boxes based on the comments by key players after the season ended. Sacco was really dealt a tough hand and he could have ridden the players much harder to try to push the team into the playoffs but he was more concerned about assimilating all the new guys .
I am not a big fan of going outside the organization to get a coach if the Bs have anyone on their staff who can take the position. I think Sacco earned it and I think the players would be happy if he got it. Further, Sacco is a company man, and if Sweeney wants a return to the Big Bad Bs with a complete commitment to the D zone, Sacco will execute it.

  7. Sweens just wants someone he can control. Thats why we had no chance at the better coaches and are left picking through the scraps.
