All due respect to Geekie, but you talk of paying him as a 1st line winger, but the reality is, he's at best a 2nd line winger. That's how underwhelming the present Bruins talent level is. It's like the early to mid 80's all over again. Have a team with one or two high level guys and fill it out with lower 2nd line and upper 3rd line talent. This is why we need to replace Sweeney and Neely (mid 80's players) with a fresh outlook on constructing a team. In my opinion

I don't think Geekie is worth that much, but on the other hand, getting rid of him is not a good idea. What we need is a good manager.
Vehemently disagree man. Saying Geekie is a nearly untouchable first line wing is wild to me. The guy’s production came when he was stapled to Pasta’s line, and his value was that he was making $2 million, not $6.5 million. He’s not a first line winger by any stretch, and if you can get a pick (bottom of the first round even) or package him and players/picks for a guy like Rossi, you 100% do that without hesitation
I'd like to keep Geekie, but 6.5mil is too much. Does Donskov now enter the coaching picture? I know based on what Sweeney said earlier he wasn't, but things change.
Bring back Heinen, he'd easily put up 33 goals on first line.
Leach was part of the 2024 debacle he was the D coach and I never seen a D corp as lost as Bs Last year D corp…bring new blood
we HAVE to trade geekie… there is no reason to keep a player who only put up 18 more points than his previous season while pasta is feeding him wide open nets to shoot at, and shooting at a pace (22%) that he cant realistically keep going at.
idk why everyone is convinced hes good when its literally a product of pastas play.
I just don't see Geekie getting that kind of payday after a single good year. He never had a 20 goal season or more than 39 pts before this year and this years production can be directly attributed to playing with Pasta. If the B's had any one else remotely better, he wouldn't be on the 1st line.
His shooting % was 22%, the highest on the team by a LONG SHOT. There is ZERO chance that's gonna happen again.
I would pass on Jay.
Because he scored 30+ goal once in his career, that means we have to keep him.
For Geekie, the Bruins should give him a bridge contract 2 years 5 Million a season. He needs to prove this year wasn't a fluke. Would he still be getting 32 goals if he was still on a line with Coyle and Fredric type players.
no internal candidates. desperately need new blood. i liked chris kelly when played for the bruins. you need to shake up the whole coaching staff. i would not be surprised if Misha Donskow get 's back in the mix. especially with dallas eliminated.

players: resign Geekie, dont go to arbitrations. trade zacha for picks and maybe a young player. no idea which pick we can get , have an idea ?? Lohri ? yeah very good at def offence ? but man, so bad in defensive, he is always on the ice when other club score. i would exchange too.
