  1. Hintz was sprinting, McDavid was skating at 90 degrees and focusing on the puck. That's how he catched up.
Still impressive to do with a fucking broken foot.

  2. McDavid anticipates a blocked shot bounce 20 feet high and 60 feet to centre then accelerating to then settles a bouncing puck to then defend the puck from Hintz by anticipating Hintz stick checks and then scoring a backhand to forehand dangling deke out to avoid poke check into a 1/2 empty net scores and then hard stop to stay on his feet at top speed into a celly was more impressive. Less impressively is Hintz failed defending on a broken foot. Without the added pressure from Hintz, McDavid wouldn’t have scored as easily. It’s very difficult to make the extraordinary difficult things McDavid does look easy.

  3. a misleading analysis. Hintz has taken a couple of direct strides while 97 is making a little loop to pursue the puck. Most importantly…watch the replay..the puck veers off considerably to McDavid's right so he has to skate directly into Hintz's path. It's not a straight line. Not even close. So Hintz despite being very fast didn't actually catch up to 97. Breakdown of video clearly shows this.

  4. Finns are very tough people, it doesn't surprise me at all that he played with a fractured foot although it seems like the slash had much more of an effect on the Stars than we might have understood especially with McDavid in the picture. That type of garbage play must be punished more severely. Proud of our Stars !

  5. Thats what people are talking about? Not that Hintz should have taken a penalty on this play to deny the chance? Weird.

  6. Yeah, I’m pretty sure that Matthew Tkachuk is yet still battling his injury from 4nations. I’m looking forward to finally hearing about it after the final cause it’s so obvious something’s wrong

  7. The league is more interested in ' game management' than keeping players safe.
As an Oilers fan, I hate seeing this type of play and it was a bonehead move by Nurse.

  8. Your foot has so many small bones. It all comes down to which area of the foot. I've had some bad foot sprains where the foot is black. And I managed to stay working on it without medical attention. It's a lot of pain tolerance but the more you stay on it the faster it heals. and I was on a drilling rig. Cowboy up.

  9. Didn't Bouchard also two-hand slash him in the exact same spot? They really gotta start handing out intent to injure suspensions

  10. Impressive. Thank you for putting things in context. The fact that Hintz had a broken foot and managed to catch up to Connor McDavid who was on a break away is an incredible feet considering the Connor McDavid is the fastest man in hocky.

  11. Hintz was building up speed from the top of edmontons circles while mcdavid was still doing a full 180 torunaround

  12. Nurse is one of the dirtiest players in the league, he should have been suspended for that slash. I can’t stand that guy…

  13. Amazing catch and observation! Really puts in to perspective just how much these players go through when everything is on the line
