  1. Matthews isn't locked up he's free agency in 2 yrs again? 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️. Nylander and Rielly are locked up.

  2. It’s all trial balloons and negotiating through the media. Let him go, keep the 14 million get 2-3 depth players. Addition through subtraction.

  3. If manner wants to leave I wish him the best of luck .then the leafs need to replace him with someone who can make a difference

  4. Curious ? When have you seen the rest of the core 4 produce when facing those big moments? You said you haven’t seen it from Marner but you saw it from Matthews and Nelander? I call bullshit!

  5. Add Matt Duchene and Connor Brown for less cap then Marner and there is more output then Marner had but with players who show up in playoffs!

  6. Darren Farris trying to get higher payment offers. Because as I said many times previously. Not a single team will pay him more than Rantanen. And they will all demand 8 years. Marner's demands have always been greedy and illogical. And unfortunately, the Leafs fell victim to it in his last deal instead of trading him back then. Which is what should have happened!

  7. I hope he signs in the East so he can sewer that team and we can boo him every time he touches the puck!

  8. Carolina was the ones that leaked the trade offer at the deadline because that team plays dirty and they wanted to let Marner's camp know they want him.

  9. Of course Darrnen Ferris needs the option of the Leafs on the table to drive the price up for everyone else.

  10. Its broken record me again…. marner is not the problem people. Wake up please.
Mathews is the issue. As the face of the team, the other players fall in behind him. Good or bad as he is on any given day, they do. And unfortunately, mathews is not a leader. He disappears in the tuff going of playoff hockey, is easily defended with pressure and facewashes, is now often injured.. and doesn't have the physical game to be THAT leader and playoff performer. AND, so the rest of the team goes. If he was physical, tough, gritty, could battle through the playoff grind and put up even decent numbers bers.. so to would the rest of the leafs follow!!
But he isn't. He won't, he never will be. History has proven this year after year.
Leafs play better without mathews in lineup.
And without Marner feeding him… he is 25-30 goal guy all day.
Trade mathews, free up those big bucks. Use it on some grit and playoff performance.
We will regret the day marner leaves. Wait and see.

  11. Speculation! Smeculation! Enough already! Can we just wait and see for crying out loud! I say Mitch stays! Bérubé likes him too much!

  12. Darius, give your head a a shake. Matthew’s and Nylander are no better in clutch time, so stop trying to convince yourself. Marner just happens to be a FA. If all were signed, any one of them could be moved for a “DNA” change. // if Marner gets out there, sleeper pick – Detroit. (money to spend, on the cusp, loads of incoming youth) and even more cap space in the next 1-3 yrs with their veteran cap hits in Copp, Chariot, Tablot and Marcel coming off the books… and their young core all signed up long term for less than 9mil per.

  13. He should take $660k then 1 million for the first round, then 5 million for each additional playoff round on a one year contract 😂

  14. I don't care you comes too play for the leafs as long they are winners. And play with heart in the playoff s

  15. “Wake the F**k up!” With his Dry hair in his last game as a leaf, let him walk. For years he’s been a season performer but is a ghost during the playoffs. Can do a lot with the cap space he’ll clear.

  16. Mitchie wants to come back to the Leafs country club, absolutely. They will over pay the figure skater here, no trade contract. He'll work hard during the regular season and disappear during the playoffs because the whole team love their long summer off season to recover and improve their golf games. Ticket prices rise, lots of swag gets sold and the money keeps rolling in. So, whats the big deal? Bring them all back! WTH

  17. Not sure why Leaf fans are upset. Did they think that they would have a chance against the Stanley Cup champs? Do they not understand the way that Florida plays playoff hockey after last year and during this one? There is and should be, no surprise there.

  18. Even if Marner isn't shutting the door on returning to Toronto, management should absolutely shut the door on Mitch coming back to Toronto. The guy wants freaking Leon Draisatl money and disappears in the playoffs. No thanks.

  19. Honestly not that opposed to giving Sam 10 if Marner walks and the cap goes up steadily. He's a proven producer with a physical game that can skate well plus he comes from the 6 so he'll play with heart no doubt.

  20. If a guy like Sam Bennett will make more because of his playoff play, how come Mitch Marner doesnt lose money for how trash he is during the playoffs.

  21. You had a chance to sign for eight years and didn’t sign and he turned down a trade to the Carolina hurricanes so I think he’s going

  22. Marner is just like that loser Mats Sundin, they want ALL the money and forget about the franchise that made them rich –massive underachievers. Bye Bye 16

  23. Core-4 —> Points per 60 in playoffs

  24. If the Leafs sign regular season Marner, this is proof that the Laughs do not give a dam about winning the Stanley Cup or any Playoff success.

  25. Sign and trade helps Marner more than the Leafs. Marner can get 8 years instead of 7. But lets face it, Marner is targeting certain teams.
