I assume trying to go after Michael Misa, because Calgary also has Luke, would be the equivalent of all of the talk last year about "we need to get Tij Iginla!!"
Thanks for the vid, Pike
I don’t think focusing on a center is realistic. If one of the second group of four you brought up slides, all well and good beyond that you’re not getting a guy that can play on your top line, and that’s the guy the club needs. The Flames front office need to put on the big boy pants and stop with this American hockey league level play. Getting to the first round to be swept, is not a win. Getting guys that can take you that far, is not a win. Wasting year after year with this piece or that piece missing is not a win. There are 8 teams in the NHL that have a realistic shot at winning their last game of the season. Being one of those is a win. There are also 8 teams that have a shot at picking first and that’s a win. All the rest need to rebuild starting from the top. Where Calgary ends up may be considered a moral victory, but that’s just the kind of thing losers say.
