1. Anyone but desnoyers and I’m sold lmao, not a fan of him at all not HIM I’m not a fan of what that LEAGUE produces as players to the NHL they are 8/10 DOGSHIT and I don’t want nothing to do with that esp as frondell and hagens have already played against MEN in way tougher leagues with more IMPRESSIVE numbers there’s like 0 NHL caliber prospect Dmen in the Q and the few that are play on his team😭😭

  2. I don't think there has been a player in the draft quite like Martone in the last few years since the Hawks started their rebuild. A 6'3" highly skilled, high offensive IQ playmaking forward with a plus shot. Leo Carlsson and maybe Senneke Fantilli or Slafkovsky are the closest. Martone probably doesn't skate as well as those guys but I think his offensive upside is the highest.

  3. Carbonneau is interesting, he has the habit of trying to do too much, but it’s because he CAN do so many things, size, speed, hands, shots (all of them) high motor, if they can coach him up to eliminate his mistakes, he could be a beast. This assumes Misa and Schaefer are gone.
And I think they could trade back, get assets, and this guy.
Martone plays soft IMO. I like Desnoyers for skill, compete and character/leadership, which is as important as skill in winning cups.

  4. I would give up a first, a second, and potentially another second round pick to swap with the islanders for their pick

  5. In my worthless opinion, I believe the Hawks just need to worry about drafting players with the most star potential regardless of size or position. So, if a trade for Misa doesn't work, then Hagens is the clear choice. He's an inch and several pounds bigger than Frank, and Frank didn't look out of place against anyone the last part of the season. And unfortunately, we're still not certain Bedard is a center for the long haul.

  6. I'm just assuming Misa is going 2 and the Hawks aren't taking another smallish forward. Especially the way they valued Levshunov over Demidov last yr.
I see alot of people mistake Martone for a classic power forward; a big, physical goal scorer. He's not that, as you pointed out.
He's a high-end playmaker who drives play offensively with his hands and creativity, scores most goals from the same areas around the net and on his low off wing, and is more of a pest than a guy who's running people over out there. His pace, acceleration and skating mechanics are not great. He also can be pretty frustrating; if you turn on a random game of his, there's a solid chance you will see him giving up on plays early or completely zoning out on an assignment. It's why being comfortable that his pace can improve is so important if you take him at 3. His top line potential will come down to his commitment.
Hypothetically, he makes alot of sense for the Hawks if they believe they are getting a player who will be able to improve his skating and have that consistent intensity and commitment. His potential ceiling would be a perfect fit stylistically with Bedard.
Personally, I see a few of the same red flags you see in guys who get drafted too high because they dominated their age group as an amateur with size/skill, but then struggle to adjust to pro pace and intensity. The off-ice meetings with him and the area scouting throughout the year will be huge.
Otherwise they should be taking Hagens or Desnoyers.

  7. Great video. In my opinion we shouldn’t trade up to get Misa. Would have to give up too many assets, and Misa isn’t guaranteed to be better than hagens, martone, or frondell

  8. What do you think about Jake O’Brien?? I would take him if we don’t select James Hagens instead of Martone,Desnoyers or Frondell

  9. If I'm Davidson I'd overpay a bit for #1 and take Misa. Talent gap is larger than analysts are saying IMO between him and the next forward choice plus hawks need him bad. Id give up #3, korch, and the late first, maybe add another prospect.

  10. For me, Desnoyers or Hagens is the pick at 3. Martone is a good big player who can produce, is older and developed and can step in faster, but hes not the big bruising scoring power forward that people want him to be and when comparing skills and potential with the other two players and account for them being centers and how theyve played on bigger stages he just doesnt hold up all that well.

  11. It is easy and obvious to state that KD should prioritize assembling a package to trade up to No. 1 for Michael Misa but the most important part of all of this is that this is a weak draft and the gap between Misa and other top forwards such as Porter Martone Caleb Desnoyers, and Anton Frondell is not all that great. Because of this the asking price should not be prohibitive and, if it is, KD should walk away from the trade. The Blackhawks will do just fine drafting Porter Martone or Caleb Desnoyers without mortgaging their future. Sometimes, "You gotta know when to hold 'em and know when to fold 'em".

  12. I think Martone will be a steal for anyone who gets him. A guy with that kind of build is a hot commodity in the league rn. I think he’d be a great fit in Utah’s top 6 and help provide a good net front presence on their pp.

  13. Hagens is going GREATLY underrated ! 5ft 11.5 lol ? Really ? Like a .5 means the world to some of you experts lol ? He's only a freshman. I'm not saying he's the for sure pick for the Hawks , but I wouldn't blame them for not trading up and taking him where they stand currently. I also disagree with drafting Martone , if only because of his "size" beside Bedard lol.

  14. Pick frondell if Misa is gone. Frondell for bedard will be what Toews was to Kane. Reliable 200 ft player who has offensive capabilities just not flashy. He could match up against first line guys so Bedard can match up against easier 2nd line players.
