Screw the picks…you get another 5 million of cap space to possibly make a big move for a proven player…the draft picks take 3 to 4 years to develop before they even possibly make the team…we don't have another 3 to 4 years to at least start making the playoffs again

Players fall off the cliff all the time at 33, not sure why that is unbelievable. He’s washed…another Yzerman special.
Tarasenko is unlikely to be much worse next season. If he shows any improvement some team might willing to trade for him. It's worth the risk. The reality is the DRWs will need to take back some of his contract if they trade him now. So the differential they are likely to save is around $2 million or there about. The solution will not be easy.

With Tarasenko, that he performs better on a team where others do the heavy hitting makes sense. He seems to need to be sheltered, to not have to play physically to perform. The wings aren't the aggressive Senators or Panthers. That may be what he needs around him.

There’s a few other contacts I would rather see go first – and it sounds like he needs to play or his off side just not the first line – he’s not fast enough for the first line – best line we have had in years was Raymond cat larks I fully understand him going to second line to help Kane he did great there too

Don’t just ‘shop’ him – trade him away – for ‘future considerations’ – if possible. Savings $5MM on the cap would be huge. Then combine some draft picks and/or prospects to get rid of Copp Holl and Compher – ANOTHER $15MM in cap space!

I agree Brian, Bring him him back for half a year. We'll see if he bounces back. The Wings will most certainly be improved IMO. There are too many reasons and he really didn't look as bad as his numbers indicated.
Trade him to Edmonton for Waldman, even if it means giving up a pick.
