The hawks need a large play maker that will drop the gloves to play with Bedard. I just don't see where Frondell fits. He definitely isn't going to get the Hawks to the stanley cup and will be like most European players. I called the Dach pick said they should take Cozens and here we are again.
I would rather trade to get Misa. If they go with Frondell, he’s got as much upside as any of the players they will be choosing from… A tough counter checker w/ a 57% win on FOs, the best one-timer would look pretty good next to Bedard or Nazar on the wing or at center. Just need to stack more talent.
Bedard should hold out signing a new contract till Davidson BRINGS IN HELP.
I think Laffy just needs a change of scenery. NYR were an absolute mess on every level last year. Plus, NYR's development of young players has been equally disastrous.
Not sure how serious Chicago is about putting Bedard on wing. If so, even occasionally, Frondell would be a good pick.

I’m concerned with the lack of offensive talent in the forward prospect group they have. These forward prospects are probably all bottom six guys besides obviously Bedard and Nazar and we still need to see a few more make it up to the NHL but I would have to think Kyle has a big trade or two coming to get some top line guys here to help Bedard and Nazar. Frondell in my opinion just adds to the log jam of bottom six forwards
We SCREWED ourselves last year by not taking the OBVIOUS choice in Demidov. While it’s not as clear of a choice in this draft, I still think Frondell is the best option- at least a MUCH better option than many of the other names being thrown around…

yes, come over to the dark side jay!! lafreniere and/or cuylle are on the top of my offseason wish list. also, i believe (not 100% confident) that the hawks would have a 3 year window to deliver the compensatory 1st rd picks if they had to give up two 1st rd picks as comp on an offer sheet. so, if they sign knies to a 11.7mil aav offer sheet, (i believe) the hawks could keep their 26 1st rd pick and relinquish their 27 and 28 1st rd picks instead (if they wanted). if i am correct, that is something i might consider doing if i am kfc. if i am wrong, try to offersheet w.cuylle.
I just don’t think the NHL free agent market looks at the Hawks as serious contenders. I think the big names aren’t interested in playing here yet and a big barometer of that is the fact that Donato doesn’t see the organization as a place he wants to be. If he feels that way how does the rest of the free agent market feel? This year’s free agent market is pretty weak anyway. Let the kids play, pump the brakes, give Bedard an opportunity to grow and learn how to handle leadership.

Honestly, i can get excited on everyone of those four – Hagens, Martone, Frondell, Deysnores. But so far Frondell is my top pick. Partly for the style of play, but partly because i support any european players and if recent history has shown us anything, every canadian star needs a european sidekick. Crosby and Malkin, McDavid and Draisaitl, MacKinnon and Rantanen. Let’s go Bedard and Frondell.
Any “Process” in which Sam Bennett is not a good fit is a bad “Process”. I want no part of that “Process”.
I will not be upset if Bennett chooses somewhere other than Chicago but I’ll be livid if KD doesn’t go after him hard.

Seriously, why do we keep giving KD credit?? We are just PRAYING that every single one of these prospects pan out, and we can just not add anyone in free agency.. Players like Marner RARELY get to free agency and the Blackhawks are able to make a run for him, or another bigger name! Bedard can't play with bertuzzi and Teuvo.

ALaF is a guy who would have benefited from some AHL time. His development feels a lot like RNH to me. Guys who were supposed to be instant game changers who didn’t develop as fast as their franchises wanted.

It is so hilarious listening to this show for years, describe needing Kane and Toews but refusing to acknowledge it and getting mad at the mere mention of it. You couldn’t create 2 players in a lab this team could use more, this offseason especially. Instead of toeing the company line, advocate for the betterment of your young team. It’s not about living in the past, it’s about the development of the future
If a talent is out there, it's their responsibility to get them. Just remember Patrick Sharp, Marion Hossa etc. You owe it the team to bring in help scoring . The young guys learn on the fly just as they did in 05, 06 and so on.

You guys talk like these top six forwards grow on trees and are readily available. They aren’t. Especially trying to sell them on coming to a rebuilding team. Even trading for one is difficult. You guys seem impatient.

Let Frondell cook in the SWEHL. He’s a younger player in the draft and not close to NHL ready. 1 year in SWEHL, 1 year in AHL, then see if he’s NHL ready

Listening to this while I work. I don't see any of this years prospects as year 1 impact players. I expect 2 years of hockey before they start to get consistent minutes and a full season of games.
Tampa Drafted Stamkos and made the playoff 3 years later. Why was that? They had Lecavalier and St louis still. They had some decent depth forwards. And Stamkos had 45 goals. Bedard isn't doing that. Kane and toews are gone. They had Roloson. You have the stud center prospect and the goalie. The aim needs to be a supporting cast imo and develop the stars. The playoffs is gonna be a couple of years out. Make the bottom 6 a bit stronger. Let the kids play more than them.
