The benefit for the Oilers in getting Demko is they’d be buying low. With Demko’s injury history, he won’t command a huge return. Worst case, he’s on LTIR all year and then he’s a UFA.

You fix our defence and Skinner and Pickard will look like gods. Pickard looked great when shots were being blocked, sticks were being lifted, and checks were heavy. We had none of that in the Stanley cup final. I’m tired of people blaming our goalie. The whole line chases Conner or Drai up the ice only for them to give it up on the blue line for a tired back check. There’s a lot wrong with the team and just trying to blame the goalie will blind us to other issues.

As a Sharks fan I wouldn’t mind taking on Skinners contract to split a season with Askarov. If the Oilers can dump Skinner then I think Ingram from Utah is a no brainer. Hofer on St Louis isn’t a bad option either.
