1. They need to be looking for premium assets when trading Rust and Rakell can’t be going with the quantity over quality at the moment. Guys like Bradley Nadeau, Konsta Helenius, and Axel Sandin Pellikka are the tier of prospects they should be looking to add. The prospect pool isn’t deep and doesn’t really have any heavy hitters adding more A prospects instead of multiple B and C prospects is the way to go.

  2. Scott Wheeler surveys different scouts. Aitcheson is one of the most polarizing prospects in the draft. I don't want him at all, too much risk and too low of upside to me. But yeah, he is a love/hate prospect.

  3. Any chance the Penguins package Karlson and Rust or Rakell to Utah for the 4th overall pick? This gives Utah a huge boost on the back end and veteran leadership up front. Seems this would be worth it for Utah to make a step forward and that gives the Penguins 3 picks in the top 12 which could bring in more blue chip prospects into the penguins organization.

  4. Penguins should've traded crosby for Ryan Poehling.. Apparently poehling was a "hot commodity"?

  5. I didn't think I'd be this happy about the Rangers giving their pick to us this year but I am! They'll get 2 top prospects who can help them within 2 years and there will be more moves to be made via trade with all these extra picks. It will be a very interesting next several days for this team. They gotta get the moves right if they're going to be contenders again while Crosby is still here, but I see the plan and vision and it's exciting.

  6. Eklund/Aitcheson would be a monster 11 and 12. If you want to talk about upping team toughness that’s what I’d go for. I think we should just pick 11 and 12 over trading up. Get two prospects that immediately go to the top of the prospect list rather than snagging one high end guy.

  7. Having two first round picks this year is huge, great way to jump start the rebuild. I know there's not really any generational players this draft, but should still be able to get two really solid players. At 11 I say draft the best forward available, and at 12 I say go for Aitcheson. I want Aitcheson badly, a young mean defensemen who puts up points is basically a unicorn.

  8. Look at where Rakell ranked in goals, especially among wingers. On a bad team. If he's traded, it better be for an absolute haul.

  9. Brian rust can't leave before he gets an A on his sweater for a full season. When Geno retires that A belongs to Rust so his presence is necessary!

  10. I would trade it for Nashville's 23 and 26th, if they're interested. Scouts are not to be trusted in the 12-26 range, in my experience.
    Just load up.

  11. This isn’t the fan in me, but I wouldn’t care either way. If they trade him and get a huge return…GREAT! If they don’t and he stays until the deadline and he helps mentor guys like McGroarty, Koivunen, Tomasino, Even maybe keeping guys like Poulin and Puustinen up to learn from him and then you trade him at the deadline.

  12. Also I would say Minnesota more so than Chicago because they are likely losing Rossi. And the familiarity with Guerin.

  13. Two picks in the top 3rd of the draft👋, KA with Tanner Howe, Boko, Lizotte Dewar, Timmins and one more person suddenly changes the identity of the pens
