  1. The Leafs Next Season will take a step back so might as well get big and mean.

    Knies-Mathews-Domi
    Patches-Tavares-Nylander
    McMann-Brazeau-Jeannot
    Lorentz-Laughton-Tanev
    Robertson-Holmberg

    Reilly/Carlo
    McCabe/Tanev
    Benoit/OEL
    Myers

    Stolarz/Woll

  2. Yes to Tanner Jeannot, theres a reason Tampa paid a crazy price to get him, and yes it didnt work out for them, but we would be getting him for free, all it cost would be money. He is a bit of a unicorn and if he fit the Berube system (which I think he would) and get back to being a 20 goal guy with all that grit and toughness and attitude, we would be laughing. I dont think Jeannot is in for a raise either, perhaps 3 years at 2.2-2.5M gets him in Toronto?

If I was Tree I'd be VERY interested.

  3. I dont know why you wouldnt trade Woll. 3.6cap hit. Same as Carlo. Cant believe entertain trading Carlo to acquire assets when Woll can acquire you the same assets cuz the market has NO GOALIES available. We’re perfectly fine to continue with a Stolarz/Akhtymov pairing. And sure, sign a 3rd backup for pennies. There is a guy in Boston on their AHL team that put up phenomenal, all star numbers. DiPietro. Surely he can back up Stolarz or fight Akhtymov for who gets to play in the NHL and who in the AHL

  4. talking about the leafs being potentially a wild card team is insane… i know you guys are trying to be impartial and all, but that doesnt mean just low ball your team to oblivion…. your forget the leafs won the division last year in the toughest division in hockey…. they were one of the best if not the best regular season team last year…. all they are losing is marner and they have both laughton and carlo, plus whatever they add in the offseason…. they are arguably better already than they were last year with marners turnovers gone and both laughton and carlo on board….. so tired of ppl dismissing the leafs bc they lost in 7 to the back to back champs in the 2nd round of the playoffs…. c'mon smarten up!!

  5. Soooo if we all agree that the Leafs aren't going to be ''better'' this season – and we can at least agree that losing Marner (the most reliable of the ''core 4'') isn't the DNA change they keep selling it as knowing that Matthews & Nylander still set the tone of this team…

WHY ARE WE STILL NOT ADDRESSING THE PROBLEM?!! AHHHHHHHH!!!! I'm losing my freakin' hair over this!!!

We've had enough of this crap over the past 8yrs – we lose players we need (grit and/or defense) – then sign a high profile free agent that's past prime and sold to the Toronto as the ''change we need!" ENOUGH….IS….ENOUGH!!!

Matthews & Nylander's attitudes have been nothing short of ''hardball'' stubbornness on the ice (and off the ice), void of leadership, and not enough attention to detail & effort WHEN IT MATTERS!!! It's time to return the favour and tell the prima donnas if they don't submit a list of 10-teams each they don't want to end up at, then prepare to watch playing time (and those precious individual awards) go down faster than the titanic!

I mean here's one of many examples: Matthews, Jarnkrok, Rielly & Woll to Nashville for –> Forsberg, Bunting, Josi & Sauros!

You want DNA change? This is DNA change!!! It addresses what each team desperately needs, and if I'm not mistaken it fits the salary cap for both teams… you say it's crazy to trade the leagues best ''regular season goal scorer'' over the past 7yrs? Really? How did the Leafs & Toronto benefit or end up a better team as a result of his personal achievements? Ironically, it's when Matthews plays WORSE (or out with injury) we see the team get better! Plus we GAIN a genuine 1(a) goalie, an all-star defence that has been lacking for a whole generation, AND we get one of the leagues best ''super-pests'' in Bunting back (a Toronto guy!) Now imagine what the Leafs look like in the playoffs if they managed to pull off Bunting – Domi – Marchand!!! HELLO rematch with Florida….what's that you say? Bennett has left the building because he's too afraid to go out on the ice now?

  6. The leafs could build a future dynasty if they trade it all away. Rebuild and get tons of picks and in 5 years be great. Or just stay on this wheel of almost until they age out in 2 years.

  7. the older i get, the more i realize it’s leafs management and their refusal to make meaningful, lasting changes for the better. it's not the other team's fault for being and doing better. hopefully TOR keeps doing what they do, it couldn't be working out better for the other teams. lol.

  8. Thanks for running Mitchell out of town 🤬🤡🤡 Controversial content shoots a foot off again 😂

  9. No picks. No prospects. Can not win the cup in the next few years. Lets rebuild. Get the picks. Draft well. Develop like Utah is. Leafs are another decade plus from being a real contender.

  10. 32 teams looking to improve and a shallow UFA pool. The few UFA's will be looking for big dollars, like Tavares. Trade Matthews. Trade Knies. Trade Nylander. Trade Stolarz or this time in 2028 Matthews walks out the door you have a D that is 31-38 years old and no prospects. Delaying the rebuild is worse thing to do

  11. Ah addition by subtraction, the cry of the truly desperate realizing their team isn't going to be as good. Wonder if this is how San Jose fans felt after their team started to dip after a nine year run near the top.

  12. You have to note that this coming season might be a step backwards. They are one injury away from not making the playoffs. They have little in the AHL to use for improving the NHL. But the Red Wings, Senators, and Canadians are going to be improved for the next season.

  13. What drugs are you smoking ?

    Magiapane for 4.5M ?
    29yrs old
    5'10
    182 lbs
    81 GP, 14 G.

    Robertson:
    23yrs old
    5'9"
    178 lbs
    69 GP 15 G..

    Mangiapane is bigger ?
    LOL
    Mamgiapane is meaner ?
    LOL.

Mangiapane is worth 4.5 M/yr,,, but you wouldn't want to pay a higher skilled Robertson 1.5M ?

  14. There are 7 forwards signed to the Marlie's with 2-way contracts.
Cowan is one of them, and it'd be wild if he doesn't earn a permanent spot with the Leafs.

I'm wondering if any of the other 6 are NHL ready and could replace low impact players like Holmberg.

  15. Laughing at the comments below, top 3 team in NHL last year on a Matthews 2 deviation below norm year. Yes Marner hurts the team on departure in regular season..But helps to redesign the team…Frees up huge cap along with Tavares freed up partial money. Knies is a beats and is going to get better not worse. Matthews will score more, trade out Robertson Jarnock, Kampf for picks. Sign Marchand, add 2 other FA, formulate a trade that takes cap back get nastier

  16. If we can get Jeannot, tanev and somehow trade for a Jack Mcbain that would be a solid start.
Everyone saying mangiapne are on crack he brings no dna change and is a whatever player, rather have someone with more physicality and size
