  1. Bouchard under 9 okay, should be under 8, but not likely. The problem is McDavid likes him too much, and makes public statements to that effect. That means they pay him 1-2 mil more than they would have. McDavid is hurting the team regarding salary cap space. Why can't he see that??? It's not like the Oilers aren't going to spend to the cap anyways. He's just hurting his chances, and even 7 mil would be a good contract for Bouch.

  2. This was the worst thing that could happend for edmonton im sick and tirred of edmonton oilers stupid trades soon i give up on this idiot team

  3. He brought Grit & scoring…… He only had 1 year left on his contract……. The Oilers need to rewatch the FINAL so they make the right moves……

  4. If they can lock in Bouchard for 8 million a year for 4 years that would be a good number. Amazing offense and can continue his defensive work. Would still be young enough to get another big contract also. Plus it give the Oilers 8 million in cap space to do something else. Moving Arvidson would also give them that extra space. Trade him back to LA for Foegle. 😅

  5. I liked Evander Kane but he didn't know how to keep his stick down and took some bad penalties in the final. Not sure he was 100% in the end and likely will play really well for the Canucks.

  6. Kane heading home . He has been a good player when healthy but it was time for him to move on. Thanks for being an oiler.

  7. I liked him as well! He was a gritty, in your face kind of guy without taking a penalty. I thought something might have happened at the end of last yea; Anyone remember him and Corey Perry having words? Then he went on the IR. To many penalties in the Playoffs & the Oilers couldn't take him out of the series against Florida. Good luck in Vancouver Evander!

  8. Hate to see him go but the cap situation made it inevitable. Hope he does well in Vancouver.

They will extend Bouchard but I hope he can beef up his game and defend more reliably. Hell of a player at his best but too often he's just plain sloppy in his own end.

  9. I'm sad to see Evander go. He's been a stand-up guy with the team but he became a cap casualty and hopefully it means the team will go out and get someone younger.

  10. Love Kane, gonna miss him! Best to him! OK Bouchard, loose him on D, move him up up front, and get a guy who WANTS to play defense!

  11. I wish Kane all the best. I didnt mind him at the start, but havent been a huge fan in last couple years.

I love Bouchard, i hope we get him in that 8yr 10 mil.

I have seen some rumours of interest in brock boeser and /or matias maccelli.

Also heard that stars have been allowed to chat with glen gulutzan for their head coach slot thats open. And it has been done. So now its a wait and see game there as well.

  13. Kane was solid on this team for the better part of his time. I hated the penalties he took in these finals, but make no mistake, this team is going to miss his physicality.

That being said, I understand the move. It had to be done. I wish Kane luck in Vancouver as well. I don't dislike the guy's time on this team, and hopefully, he can wind down his career over the next few years, in his home town. 🍻

  14. I'm a big fan of Kane too. So we traded a big, physical forward for what? Rather see Bowman on the move, as far away as possible, like Tierra Del Fuego. If I was Bouchard I'd wait to see what happens with the offer sheet. The Blues might have a uniform already fitted out for him. He can partner with Broberg. Vancouver got better, we got weaker. How the hell could we replace Ken Holland with Bowman? Someone must have been smoking some bad s**t. Disgusting.

  15. Exactly , horrible move for Oil, great move for Van, Edm will absolutely regret this screwball choice. Bet Connor demanded Bouchard over Kane. Be Bye Oilers Cup chance from here out, stupidest trade seen in years TRADE BOUCHARD ,

DOESN'T ANY ONE WATCH GAME REPLAY SHOWING BOUCHARD BEING RESPONSIBLE FOR 60% goals against , and you want to reward his lazy liability spotty defense habits .

Connor, unfortunately you will grow to see this as The WORST "putting your foot down ", moment I predict ending Your chance to win a Cup, in Edm

Hold my beer , you will see in a few months , click friends don't necessarily mean good cohesion , and now looks to begin another "DECADE OF DARKNESS PART II" to bring about a wholesale rebuild , when Drai, and Hyman and the rest give you nothing compared to 'WHAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN "

ALMOST SEEMS LIKE INTENTIONAL INCOMPETENCE To ENSURE NO CUP For OILERS For Quite a LONGTIME

Was Bouchard worth that , F NO.

  16. Are the Oilers hinting at getting some major boost from the Vancouver Canucks? Not draft picks, just an established player.

  17. Patrick, is it possible that all these distractions contributed to the Oilers Cup Final loss to the Panthers? I'm not blaming the players, just the situation that's all. Such as the McDavid contract talks, the fact that Kane was only available for the playoffs and was probably not in 100% game shape by the time the Cup Final rolled around. Same thing for Ekholm, he wasn't 100% either. He missed at least 2 months and then comes back just before the Cup Final started. The timing was terrible if you ask me with Ekholm, same with Kane. Plus if that's not enough they need to get Bouchard under contract. Safe to say Ken Holland left Stan Bowman a mess to clean up? To me the answer is yes.
