  1. I know a lot don’t like racing but ovi lifting the cup reminded me of the emotion Big E and how the entire sport was rooting for him to win the Daytona 500. Even a lot of pens fans rooted for ovi. Once Kuzy buried the pens it was over.

  2. Brees is the best example they could think of for football? Peyton Manning exists dude. Won first Super Bowl at 30 after years of having the best regular seasons. Ovechkin always seemed to run into Crosby and Manning had to deal with Brady. Manning should welcome Ovi off of the so-called “chokers” list because they’re both champs now.

  3. Overall — the Cleveland Browns
Close runners up: Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres, San Jose Sharks, St. Louis Blues, Winnipeg Jets, every NBA team except Lakers, Cavs, Celts, Mavs, and Heat.

  4. Ovie winning the cup this year is exactly the same as the Detroit and yzerman winning the cup in 97 so many parrellels

  5. Shit good for alex ovechkin💪👑 im not a hockey fan but i do know about alex and how good he is..

  6. Jim kelly def a great.. Barkley is def a great and i doubt we see another Barkley. 6ft4 power forward with that type of dominance we will never see again

  7. Baseball I think sees this effect the least by far when it comes to how the perception of a player is tied to their number of titles. Ted Williams really does sum it up: I don't know anyone of even modest baseball knowledge who ever said, "Yeah, he was great, but no World Series." Even typing that made me feel stupid just now. LeBron can and has turned shit into gold by himself, as has Peyton (10-6 Colts minus Peyton equals 2-14), but no single player can do the same in baseball. Starting pitchers play only every five games, and no player can take more than 1/9 of a team's plate appearances in a game. If anyone starts doubting Mike Trout's place in baseball lore as an example just because he ended up with the Angels of all teams, their opinion is safe to ignore. (Honestly, I think hockey should be counted in the same category as baseball in this regard, if not to the same degree.)

  8. If we are talking about hockey only, I think the Leafs, who have not won a title since O6 days, then the Sharks.

  9. I feel like never winning a WS doesn’t effect a Baseball player’s legacy in the same way as it does in other sports.

  10. From a “diehard” Capitals fan for life, I would love to see Henrik Lundqvist win a Cup. Nothing but respect for him!

  11. The only problem with Dirk / Ovi comparison is Ovechkin is much better. Dirk is a hall of fame type player, but Ovechkin is probably the best offensive player in the history of the sport. In basketball terms Ovi is comparable to Kareem or somebody. Otherwise reasonable points though.

  12. I love how the conversation started with hockey… And then hockey wasn't spoken about anymore. Silly me for thinking it might be discussed

  13. It’s more than dirk because Ovechkin is higher up in hockey than dirk is in basketball. Dirk is top 25 all time easy but Ovechkin is top 15 easily

  14. That’s a valid metric in determining who would benefit most from a title: Has not having a title hurt their legacy?
