    Sens are willing to trade back with this year’s pick.
    VGK wants to take a run at Marner.

    Trade 2025 1st round pick, 2026 2nd round pick, David Perron with 50% salary retention ($2mil for one year) to VGK for Tomas Hertl.

    Hertl is younger that Giroux, he’s only $6.75mil (SJ retained salary in the trade to VGK), he is >50% career in the faceoff dot, has a lot of playoff experience/success stats wise, he’s fast, talented scorer, good two way player.

    Then you don’t need to sign Giroux, but if you want to you can still afford to pay him $4mil/year for 2 years (I’d add performance bonuses in the last year to incentivise him to sign for the 2 years). Top 3 lines would be:

    Tkachuk/Stutzle/Zetterlund
    Hertle/Cozens/Batherson
    Giroux/Amadio/Greig

    Hertle, cozens, Giroux, Greig can play up and down those lines as well.
