This is the same nonsensical argument that Leaf fans are making right now about how they were the only team that took Florida to 7 games, and thus are the 2nd best team in the NHL. I mean, I played the lottery, and got 3 out of 6 numbers correct, and was only off of the other 3 numbers by 1 or two digits. So does that make me an almost millionaire jackpot winner too by this logic?
The saddest parts of Canucks history is all their implosions. You see Crosby and Malkin stick with Pens forever. But what happens when Canucks fail? Implosion time and time again. Linden & Bure? Bertuzzi & Nusland? Kesler? Luongo? Horvet? JT? And now maybe Hughes? All gone.
And, how many times does the Canucks enter an era of darkness after each implosion? Every single time. We never make good enough trades during implosion, always take forever to recover.

It's the average Canucks issue… Once every decade or so, the team does well and is relevant.
Most of the time, that relevance only last for one, or two seasons at most (this is a fact. Not just an opinion)
This Vancouver team under this ownership and management are a perennial wild card contender.
the rebuild should have happened back in 2016 or whenever it was that Linden left the organization due to the ownership not caring about anything except clawing into the playoffs for that sweet playoff money.
What?!?!?!?Florida blew up the oilers in the final series, literally blew up! Goal difference 28:17!!! The oilers won two games, both after OT. 5:1,5:2,6:1 Panthers stomped Edmonton, they weren't even close.
Uh no. I think if they squeaked past the Oilers it would have been a commentary on the Oilers underachieving. Hughes is definitely a good enough defenseman to shut down McDavid though. That being said, I think the Canucks would have lost momentum against Stars and lost in 4.
