I was kind of hoping the Habs would be tanking one more year for Mckenna… I really feel they are an elite center away from a dynasty but I cannot deny this is ça a great move that makes the team better. I wonder if they move Jayden Struble for some draft capital or possibly for a forward…

Dobson reminds me a lot of Dougie Hamilton and I'm not a big Dougie fan, from his days in Calgary. Not saying they're not good players but even if they're good you still might want someone else. The Islanders hoped Dobson would be this great PP QB but he never showed signs of being that. Maybe that was the team's fault because their PP has been crummy for years. They hoped Dobson might could help fix that, but he couldn't. In Montreal they have Hutson so they don't have to look for it in Dobson, so he might be a better fit for them than he was for the Island.

Dobson could have 70 pts on a half decent team with scoring.. Islanders shooting percentage was really bad . nobody could finish not even 1 30 goals scorer.will be a huge offensive addition to a team like Montreal that can score.

I ask myself would I rather have heinman,aichison and eklund or Dobson…🤔🤔🤔 Dobson is a proven stud d-man. Idk how good I feel about this trade. Certainly you get more players back who have high potential upside but I think the key word there is "potential". Dobson already achieved the upside and was still relatively young with many productive years ahead of him. Dobson and Schaefer is a mighty combo of d-man. I think I like the isles keeping dobson instead of trading him. On the flip side Montreal just keeps looking better and better. Btw I'm neither an isles fan or a Montreal fan, in fact I'm rather a Montreal hater but the facts are the facts. Montreal is really looking freaking good in 1-2 seasons. And while I'm not an isles fan I have been silently rooting for them to get back to being a serious contender.

This trade ages badly for the Isles. Dobson will return to form and all the boo birds who thought this was going to be an overpayment will eat crow. Maybe in 3-5 years we will know if we got fair value. The rumor is Roy didn't like Dobson which is pretty ironic as Roy's coach ran him out of Montreal.
