It could have easily been a different draft board for Detroit's #1 had not Nesbitt and Kindel inserted into the top 12. Both were a surprise to say the least.
Detroit got a choice of Bear, Smith, or Eklund that was enough of a variety. Had Nesbit or Kindel not been picked ahead in the order I suppose the only could would have been LHD Jackson Smith as the prime choice available. Thank you Penguins and Flyers.

Good job, Stevie, in the draft and in Gibson signing. We need a lot more, however. Two top four defensemen, a top LW forward and a couple of bottom six role players familiar with McClellan's scheme being implemented should be next. A buyout or two should cover it, including our cap space atm.

Notes from sweden: Anton Johansson was one of the few bright spots in Leksand this season. This offseason has been tough on the roster due to financial difficulties. Anton will be the most important player in the team the coming season and he will play A LOT of important minutes. This will be good for him and for the Red Wings.
