I like cootes, but man he’s right about Eklund and Aitcheson. Eklund looks like a sure top 6 forward who can rip it. Would’ve loved it if we took Cameron Schmidt in the 3rd round

Teams that win cups have players like Sam Bennett, I think he offers way more to the Canucks than Cam thinks. He will develop with the Canucks coaching staff and be a solid second line centre.
I’m not sure about Cam’s judgement – failing to recognize that the Canucks have nothing to lose with signing Evander Kane – it’s difficult to find a top 6 power forward – especially one that wants to play in Van! And cootes is a fantastic pick! A gritty, hard working right shot centre that they need – it has nothing to do with not being at the combine!
I would rather have a good old fashion Canadian boy in Braeden Cootes who wants to be here in Vancouver and compete to win for a Stanley Cup unlike JT Miller who puposely conflicted with Elias Petterrson as a smoke screen to leave the Vancouver Canucks for the New York Rangers.

im happy eklund didnt end up in vancouver for his own sake.
I don't know if I've ever disagreed with Cam before, but i do now on two counts: 1) Cootes is more valuable to the Canucks than Eklund would be; and 2) Evander Kane will play well this season. I think he'll be the highest scoring winger on the team, although I'd like Debrusk to have that title.
