I’m guessing between Rakell, Rust, Heinen, Hayes, Acciari, and Lizotte, 4 will hopefully be traded. Because Mantha needs a top 6 spot, Tomasino needs a top 9 spot, kinda wanna see what Poulin and Puustinen do with extended roles.

I feel like Anthony Mantha might as well just stay in a hotel for a few months. His signing just has the feel of "guy who is going to be flipped" lol.
If Sid puts up 90 pts and 80 pts the next 2 seasons, he'll be 30 pts behind Messier for 3rd all-time. He would need 65 points to pass Jagr for 2nd all-time. A lot needs to go right, but I can't see him walking away if he's still playing at a high level in 2 years.

Geno deserves to go out however he wants. He's not the player he once was but still a good 2nd line center. The theme of the offseason soo far has been size and physicality. The draft and now free agency. Brazeau and mantha both very large men. Excited to see brazeau. Havent seen much of him but heard he's a good bottom 6 option. Hopefully mantha is fully recovered from the acl surgery. It can take a player a year or 2 to feel completely comfortable with it. If he's healthy, great signing. He's such a big man and hard to contain. If i see one knock on his game it's for such a large man, he's not physical enough
My fear is that Dubas is going to give it the ole “we tried to compete while Sid was here but ya know it just didn’t work out that way.” When really he’s signing 50 bottom six players and bottom 3rd pair d men with all this cap space. I mean, I really like adding young players who could push the young roster players and finding someone who needs an opportunity, but you can’t just keep signing so many bottom six players without taking a swing on an actual potential top six player. They have a ton of cap space and it doesn’t roll over.
I’m totally aware they’re re-tooling/rebuilding but with how Sid has played, I’d really like to see these guys get another shot to make the playoffs. I almost wouldn’t blame Sid if he gets the feeling that Dubas is just biding his time until the burden of pleasing Sid is gone so he can do what he wants. I hope I’m wrong I really do, as far as the moves made for the future I think he’s really done a nice job. Something just doesn’t make sense especially with how many players are already on the roster.
