More women in hockey is great. But I already know friends who suffer as hockey parents taking their young children to super early practice, and their tween and teen kids to late evening practices. Rink time is at a serious premium all across Canada.

Didnt expect all 3, but got the updates this evening on the FL Panthers feeds, I thought the way they posted Ekblad that he was the one guy out, but instead all players took like a 2 to 3 million dollar per year pay cut to stay. This just doesn't happen in todays sports world. They are thinking, winning cups is one thing, but making history in the salary cap era. This is going to be an interesting next 3 years. After that everyone will start aging out of their primes and some guys will be ready for retirement.
The Oilers are crazy to have not traded Bouchard. Easy way to get cap space and get rid of his awful defense.

Oilers are cooked. Won't make it out of the first round & McDavid won't re-sign meaning a trade at the deadline & then re-build without any prospects. That they couldn't get Bouchard to sign a team-friendly deal shows that winning isn't the objective, getting paid is. $45+ million / 50% of their cap space on 4 players, two of which are solidly mediocre, is a recipe for total failure. The Oilers are 100% worse than the Leafs.

So it’s not tampering just on a technicality, right? There’s no way that a 12-year contract was agreed to and signed on the eve of free agency without contact between VGK and Marner’s reps. The NFL does the same shenanigans. If you’re not going to enforce the rules, then just don’t have them.

Marner addition to VGK –> lethal offense power for the team ; but beware of weaknesses at the blue line (no more Pietrangelo/Hague) and in G, Adin Hill isn't bad but i don't think he is a number one goalie ; in future years, VGK will need a stellar goalie, like a Bobrovsky/Hellebuyck/Vasilevskiy ; maybe possible with the salary cap growth in 2026 and 2027 (huge rises)…
