Typo on the graphic for the Miller trade. It is supposed to say 2026 2nd, not 2026 3rd.
I'm sorry but NHL players don't even make nearly enough money compared to other pro sports to leave millions on the table. Eckblads been to three cups. If the panthers care, they woulda paid him what hes worth. Giving the billionaire owner a discount on your talent never makes sense outside of sentiment.
As a Canucks fan I’m really happy with re-signing our guys. Especially Boeser. But I was a little disappointed Kuzmenko stayed in LA. I was hoping he would come back with Tocchet gone and go back to lighting it up with Pettersson.
Ceci got 4.5???? 😂😂😂😂😂😂
As a flyers fan I'm actually super excited about Vladar
I wonder if ekblad deal includes free PED’s
I think Utah did really well. Tanev and Schmidt are exactly the guys this team needs, they did well in the Peterka trade.
Don`t like what LA did. They lost Garikov, which was their best D last year. Armia and Perry, that`s a lot of money for 4th liners playing 10mins per night and i don`t like the Ceci contract at all.
Seems like Holland signs the same guys over and over again.
Somehow Stars went out and got significantly worse. Signed a 4th liner for too much, and two years too long. We just got rid of Faksa, but Nill HAS to sign a terrible player every year. Its in his contract or something.
Don`t like the KÀndre Miller trade at all. A 1st, a prospect and a 2nd rounder to then sign him to an expensive 7,5m contract?
He`s not a 7,5m D, hasn`t been last year and that might turn out really bad.
What was the point of making Tavares and Knies take discount deals if Leafs were gonna lose Marner's huge contract and not make any big signings???
Eric Tulsky is a joke of a GM. What the heck is he doing? He has let so many great players away in his short short period of managing.. but hey he has a lot of cap space so lets overpay for K'Andre Miller. Leave our club Tulsky, you are not qualified.
So many trash contracts again. Pretty boring free agency imo
2:22 Kane and Toews together there, huh.
Would like to hear your takes on Detroit signings. I like the JVR signing: no risk with some upside. Other signings quite insignificant.
Gotta say, oilers have been surprisingly quiet.
As a Rangers fan I hate that trade Chris Drury needs to be fired the Rangers will be the worst team in the NHL FOR YEARS TO COME WUTH DRURY AS GM
if scott morrow turns into a top four defenseman i’ll get his name tattooed on my forehead
i was berated all day about how bad miller is defensively cause he had one down year… have fun watching morrow. only two years younger than miller btw. he’s a trainwreck and hasn’t improved at all. he can be a PP specialist for sure, but if you think miller was bad, you just wait.
that’s not to say the canes won the trade or whatever stupid BS the twitter kids try to label these deals with. sometimes trades just help for both teams. i think this ends up being one of them. rangers got some assets and cap relief, plus a young piece that could help in a sheltered role, canes get a very talented blueliner they will probably mold into a top four defensemen. win win. going from burns and orlov to miller and nikishin is going to make a massive difference.
canes turned necas – an asset they had no interest in retaining – and drury into stankoven, miller, and another first rounder still to play with. pretty tidy work from harvard boy.
Ken Holland doesnt deserve his job. Insane deals for the Kings. Hate them all, except Forsberg and Armia.
Vegas rolls craps on Marner. Like the leafs a lot on money spent on a guy who folds his game in the playoffs .
Good for the leafs on cutting this guy loose
Oh yeah? If it were a dud would the sens have handed out that BLOCKBUSTER contract to the biggest name on the market Lars Eller?
I wouldn’t necessarily call it a dud, but most GMs definitely exercised more patience than they generally have in the past. Most GMs, not all, I’m looking at you Ken Holland lol.
Ace here, as a hawks fan I am fine with them sitting out of this class and letting mainly the kids get a shot next season. Would much rather watch them develop then give Cody Ceci way too much money for instance. Most hawks fans are going balistic right now but rebuilds take time. This is a hockey show.
You can be a complete bum in the NHL & still get a million dollar salary
Could you talk about Andrew mangiapani
Signing Marchand until 43 seems risky. I wouldn't expect him to keep his pace until then, he's probably bound to take a pretty big step back this coming season
Love the ducks signing yesterday. We have a ton of cap space left too and are spending it for the first time in a long, long time. Go get Ehlers and a d-man or two.
Florida has the best top9 in the league and its not even close.
Ekblad was not getting 9+, 7.5 maybe 8 tops.
Free agency hasn't even started yet
You cant loose to the oilers in the first round if you dont make the playoffs. -Ken holland
Florida’s top 9 is better than Vegas
Barkov is a future hall of famer and has been the 2nd/best two way forward for the past 6 years reinhart is one of the best goal scorers of the 2020’s tkachuk is one of then best American born hockey players Bennett is an insane second line center with a good defensive upside verhaeghe is one of the most clutch players in this sport e-rod is a great winger who can play anywhere in the lineup Lundell is a mini barkov lusto is a great two way forward not as good as barkov or Lundell but still good and brad marchand is a certified hall of famer playing on the third line
Alright who's saying Vegas and Kings in round 2, marner loses, kings make the cup final and lose
That both Provorov and Miller got bigger deals than Gavrikov reeks of a deal made last week. NHL should investigate tampering.
was a lot of fun as a knights fan , imagine the florida bros had fun too
"Vegas has to have the best top 9"…there is one team somewhere named after cat or smth 😂…
Ahhh Kings confirmed Finals Loss…
Jonathan Drouin has been injured most of his career. He be more hurt than Taylor Hall. He not revive his career in Colorado.
Its reported that it sounds like ehlers is going to carolina. Ehlers said hes signing today – it was between washington or carolina earlier today – but as of recently its 1 team and hes apparently just trying to get as much money as he can. Which implies……hes signing with carolina cause they have more cap than washington
Florida is still scary they resigned who they wanted to keep and they got more depth.
i feel like with the jets making a semi-big splash signing gus nyquist will really help their bottom 6 he can get you 40-50 points and he can go on the PP if needed
My idea is to allow a team to pay anything they wish, outside of any salary cap considerations, for a player that was developed in their market. This may encourage our Canadian star players to stay with a Canadian team close to where they grew up and help offset the advantage that teams like Florida and others have. In other words, you want a strong team in the future, then pour resources into developing talent in your area.
And we keep hearing about expanding the NHL?
There needs to be FEWER teams not more lousy ones. Right now no-one can compete w/ Florida and Vegas, anyway.
The Blues trade is maybe also because of how much promise Snuggerud showed at the end of the season last year.
Armia disrespect
ottawa should of went after marner no lies give up all your picks who cares
As a Panthers fan, this shows why we won two cups, the players love being on this team.
Brad Marchand's deal shouldn't have been authorized… We all know that most players retire around 40 years old or even before and knowing chances are very strong to see him not playing the last 3 years of the contract is a disgrace…
Devils were penalized for the Kovalchuk contract (although it was a way worse situation), while it was also bringing Kovalchuk to like 44 years old at the end of the contract.
Maybe I'll be surprised in a few years and Marchand will still play all the years, even if it means playing on a 4th line for the last 3.
