Only Leaf fans would celebrate losing the top free agent, while Vegas may have the piece to finally get by Edmonton. How nice it must be to have Marner to blame if you are a Leaf fan. And the bonus is you can blame him if your team doesn't make the Finals next year. How convenient is that. The reason you wasted the era is because you treated him like ####. You have literally the 2nd best team in the NHL and cannot appreciate it.
With a 1 player tweak and Marner scoring maybe 2 goals against the Panthers next year, and you're in the Finals. LOL.The arrogance of a fan base that hasn't won a cup since before they were born. Not a Leafs fan, but it was obvious to anyone not in Leafs management that the "Core Four" should have been broken up years ago. It's really a great example kf sports incompetence and cluelessness that the situation was allowed to continue.
This is a great window into the workings behind what goes on on-ice and in the media. Us fans often forget that there are whole teams of people behind each player and of course in every front office and not every decision and outcome can be chalked up to one person or event. As a non Leafs fan I guess it's better late than never and hopefully the franchise is able to pivot successfully away from this era.

An American hockey fan for 30 years. You leafs fans are toxic. I have watched every season since 1991. As many games as possible. But the last 5 years in the playoffs most the leafs sucked. Leafs team and organization is toxic. Toronto will never win anything. Glad he left. Maybe him and his family will be happy. As a Wings fan. You leafs fans will never win anything. Keep complaining.
