Feels weird this early
Like I asked, what is the New York Rangers prospect rankings #1-10 as of 7/5/25 .And why can’t Chris Drury utilize Hartford as a feeder system? like small market teams that barely play to a cap floor
I have been hearing everyday that Connor McDavid is leaving Edmonton is this true or is it just a rumor I am a big fan of Connor McDavid I wouldn't mind at all if he left Edmonton.
1 get rid of Soucy … 2 sign a veteran nhler and not cheap seconds as they just have aside from Raddish…. and pls pls get rid of Drury ….
I’m excited we’re gonna be so much better next season than we were this one.
Trade othmann
How do you want kids to develop kids when they dont play top minutes .. worst hire Laviollette who completely ruined those kids one at a time…. gotta stop hiring those coaches from the NHL carousel and they did it again!!!! Look around the league..,,,, Drury is a disaster NY …. GET A NHL VET stop signing these cheap seconds from other teams!!!!! Our coach is in Edm ,,, sad isn't it !!! Drury hires his buddy!!!!
Don’t over think this ..Laffy is a pup ,had bad year and wasn’t that Terrible ..Let’s c 👀👀👀 what goes on this year ..New staff ..LGR !!..Mike Sullivan is in a different league from Ranger prior coaches ….This year will b much better ..Will be a discipline team ..He is a good coach and a relatable head coach
Yeah retread coaches are a dead end. Just ask the likes of Scotty Bowman (St.L Buff Mont Pitt Det) Mike Keenan (Phi NYR Van, StL, etc) Joel Quennville (StL Col, Chi) Daryl Sutter (St L Cal LA Ducks/KIngs SJ) who have 15 Cups between them and countless trips to the Semis and Finals. It's not about how many teams you coach, it's what you do with them. Good coaches get results. Sometimes they wear thin like Keenan, Sutter and Laviolette. But the get jobs because they win right away. It's up to the front office to ID and hire them. Not too many first year NHL coaches bring Cups with them. It takes time to develop a winner. Which brings me to developing players. NYR have notoriously been bad a developing talent going back to the 80s. Emile Francis brought in the 70's talent. They went until early 90's before mortgaging the likes of Weight/Amonte et al to win in '94. The first 20 years of the 2000s saw it overseen by Sather's crew w/ brief success (some nice players in Kreider, Miller, Lundqvist, Dubinsky, Callahan, Staal and a few more). This recent lack of production stems from bad scouting and decison making by Gorton and Sather starting w/ the rebuild where JT Miller was included in trades for the likes of Nemestiknov, Hajek or TDA and Lias Anderson and a host more poorly graded talent.
You guys need to get your heads out of the social media cesspool and do some research that doesn't revolve around likes.
you also have to take into consideration that this is NY and there are high expectation & pressure to produce almost immediately, regardless of where you're coming from. Most players don't even hit their prime until 27+ and the organization doesn't have much patients to wait.
they are not drafting good players ..that's the point..!!
They need a Herb Brooks like coach to develop them. They need leadership and toughness.
How many prospects really help successful teams 1-3 a year, there are so many players that are good but reality is very few will make it. So because guys have skills either from NCAA or Juniors timing is everything. Teams are built from goal out. The biggest problem they had last year is couldn’t hold a lead I think Sullivan will provide the plan and details to correct that first.
I never get too excited over Prospects/Draft picks. Many never make the big club it seems
Listen at the end of the day, veteran players win in the playoffs. The Rangers develop good players, they just decide to trade them n they become great NHL players. Not every player become stars like Will Cuyle . Laffy will play better, Kakko will get better in Seattle. Me personally like Edstrom, Brett Berard, n Rempe if he decides to play hockey, n stop fighting which he ain’t good at. Ottham , n. Perrault my opinion not looking good . My opinion
drury gets fire n tha team automatically gets better, he’s picking players that other team don’t want, n You fools keep saying great day for drury. The only thing drury did right was getting ka no defense Miller out of NY. Besides that all he got , we’re 3/4 line players. We have like 100 3/4 line players right now. Good day??? U kidding urself
Historically, Rangers teams do very well when expectations are low. They are VERY low this season so who knows… could surprise us.
Lafreniere is a total bust another bad contract
Utimately it falls on Chris Drury as president and GM to have the people in place too emphasize player development at every level. In 5 years it has been an abject failure and The Letter , a total failure.
This Needs To Be Addressed,
This Is The Real Issue With This Franchise
You look at Lafrenere & see Jake Guenzal. I look at Lafrenere & ser Lafrenere. Sullavan had Crosby & Malkin. Helps.
There is no identity with this team. A system has to be in place then find the players that fit within the system.
You have to have a good few years of drafting in the top 10 and still have a string of good luck but also an organization that knows how to draft and develop
The Rangers have NONE of those things…period.
We’re better off acquiring picks and trading them to other trash for prospects they’ve picked.
Team can’t draft.
Hugh Jessiman. Dylan McIlrath. Kaapo Kaako. Need I say more
Getting Panarin did put the Rangers back on the map and with the other veterans they had they went to the Eastern conference finals twice. The reason why they lost besides playing a better team is they did not give the effort enough to give themselves a chance to win and that is why the Rangers are changing the core players who didn't get it done and got rid of the coaches who didn't end up getting the effort from the players. Lavriolette should have benched some of those players with the lack of effort they were giving last year to send the message that this is unacceptable and yes then given the young guys a chance who will give the effort but he didn't and that is why he is gone. Sullivan is smart enough and demanding enough to make the right moves, have good communication with the players so they know exactly what is expected from them and will give the necessary discipline if he is not happy with there efforts. I think this coaching staff as a whole can develop the younger players as well and push the right buttons and make it work. Another way to look at it for the younger players is that since they have veterans players it takes the pressure off the younger players as opposed to I have to play beyond my abilities at the moment. On every team there is the need and want to win. A team that has the proper balance of veteran and younger players coached well can be a competitive team as well but the will and the desire to win where you give the effort to win has been the thing that is lacking. They do need a couple of more pieces like a good third line center which they can get with the cap space going up 10 mil next year and the younger players to develop more so they don't have to do a complete rebuild now but take some steps over next couple of years
Drury is great
Its not always on the coach for development of a player. There are numerous "player development" staff members that are at practice every day with these guys, the assistant coaches sit and do video with these players, there are even video coaches who do video with these players. The coach is there to develop a method for their team identity, systems, order, leadership. That is why they pay other people to help with development of these players. ALSO, it is not only on these numerous coaches, it is also on the player to develop themselves. You can only do so much as a coach, the player has to buy into a role that the development team, coaches, and others are envisioning for this player. Also, I heard you talk about LW and RW. Guys, on the ice, there are 3 forwards and 2 defenseman and in some cases depending upon systems, there are 5 players on the ice. Forwards or in your case the LW and RW are wingers, they should be able to AT THIS POINT in their career be able to play both sides. The names LW and RW and again in some cases Centers are legit just names for where you go on a faceoff.
be nice to sign Evan Bouchard
Soucy and Othmann can go .. we need cap space another dman and a third line center..
Drury likes everyone else’s players more than his own
They signed bread because he took less money and wanted to play here. Can’t pass that up rebuild or not.
