The Pens clearly acting like they are going for a full rebuild. Getting a good draft pick to take on an older guy with a terrible contract for 1 year. Am just sad to see Crosby still there and having to go through this in his last 2 or 3 seasons. He should ask to be moved to a contender, have a real shot at one more cup.
nobody got a better player or an upgrade, but the Penguins got a good extra pick and Dallas got some cap space. Seems like a win for both teams.
It was horrible for Nill to use a first round pick to get Grunland then lost the guy right away. Then paying another second round pick for this awful contract. He's not even close to gm of the year last season
I don't think there was anything wrong with Dallas signing Dumba. Veteran RHD depth. The dollar amount is what made zero sense, and he'd probably still be with Dallas if they had paid him something sensible like $1.5m.
Pens now have the most complete collection of defensively inept RHD in the Cap era. Perfect for tanking it up.
Pittsburgh is full tank for McKenna. Put Dumba on a pair with Karlsson for worst possible defense.

Good piece of work from Dubas. Grabbing a 2nd rounder for essentially cap space and a tank commander is something I am all for. Also, this feels like a precursor to a Karlsson move. Pens now have 4 "NHL" RHD, so it feels like one is getting moved at some point soon

Years ago when Nylander was struggling and Dumba was top pair defenseman for Wild I suggested Leafs try trading Nylander for Dumba and I was met with ridicule because apparently people thought Dumba was a much higher value player than Nylander. The tables have turned in a wrong way, you've got me…mad now.
